What are our senses without the sense of vision? We tend to "see" with the touch of our hands, especially in the dark, we tend to "see" with our ears when we hear music, and taste and smell too. What are our four senses without the sense of sight?

Not sure what you mean. The other senses of blind people are often enhanced. I wouldn't call the use of other senses 'seeing' though. Although I suppose a mental image is still created through other senses when necessary.
What? Sounds like you're talking about Synesthesia, which only affects a minority of the population.Quote:

It's because our senses are intertwined. (If I could remember the miniseries that I saw where they discussed senses I'd tell you... it was SO GOOD!) In one short scene they gave people red Kool-aid that was lime, and most people "tasted" strawberry or cherry. When they were blindfolded they had trouble guessing the flavour, but when it was green they could "taste" the lime right away.
Similar thing with overlaying someone saying "BAH, BAH, BAH" over the IMAGE of a person saying "FAH FAH FAH". When you close your eyes, you hear them saying Bah, but when you LOOK, it sounds like Fah.
All of our senses are connected verymuch so, which could partially explain it. I'll have to try and find that show again because it was outstandingly done.
No, I think he means what Dianeva said.... "Although I suppose a mental image is still created through other senses when necessary."
You automatically produce a mental image, when you're trying to navigate or something with a different sense. Like if you feel a room, you're making an image in your head, imagining it.
Or if you're feeling a face, you produce an image in your head.
So to answer the OP, our senses are just our senses without sight lol.
Feel something without making an image. That's what a blind person would feel.
Apply to hearing, smelling etc.
I think that your conundrum may be that sight is so fundamental to your way of perceiving the world, that you can't imagine it without creating an image of it. It's similar to how many people are so conditioned to putting thoughts into words, that they can't conceive of thinking without words.
Or maybe you have a purely linguistic issue here... Maybe you're using the word "see", where you really should be using the word "perceive", then confusing yourself because to "see" really refers to visually perceiving?
