But on a more serious note... Are you KIDDING me? This is why you can't trust politicians; be they Republicans or Democrats, all of them will jump on a good war bandwagon, bunch of fucking hawks. I'd like to say, c'mon people, yes you may not like Ron Paul for everything... but really, really consider not being stupid and wasting your votes. Please, do it for the children.
My heart goes out to the Iranians. May they remain strong while our terrorist armies invade their land on false claims in order to plunder their resources.
I'm curious as to why, before leaving for Hawaii on the 23rd Obama signed all pending legislation EXCEPT for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which still shows unsigned as of 9:00am (EST) December 26, 2011:
Uh, this is a surprise? Iran shot down one of our planes, which was a huge embarrassment and they will most likely be able to reverse engineer it. It's not an act of war since it was us invading their space, so the only way to start a war and have the support of the blind rednecks is to say they were connected to 9-11, just like Iraq. They also did probably know of Osama Bin Laden's wear-abouts, so even though they didn't help in 9-11, they hid it's culprit. Still going to be a disaster of a war if it comes to that, they are a hell of a lot tougher than Iraq.
And wait, NDAA hasn't been signed yet? Maybe he's thinking about the next election and the negative backlash violating the constitution will have. Finally he does something right.
I see Iran getting a lot of coverage in US news and statements by members of the White House, or the Presidential debates.
It's weird because Iran doesn't even register on our news. I don't recall it being mentioned since the green revolution stuff. Looks like you guys are warming up the war machine; I don't think anybody else will be with you.
Obama promised to veto the NDAA, although I don't think it was over the bill of rights violation.
The worst part about this is the droves of idiots who would gladly go to war over this ruling. I'm sorry, but it's been 10 years and well over 150,000 dead (some estimates put that number many times higher), how much is enough?
I still find it funny but at the same time disgusting how the US go to war with other countries suspecting them of having armed nuclear weapons when they spend more money than any other country in the world by a large margin on military equipment and they are allowed to build nukes, not only this but being the only nation to ever drop a nuclear weapon on another nation.
Perhaps you have missed out on what they (Iran) have been doing since 1979?
-Taking over the US Embassy in Tehran and holding hostages for over 444 days.
-Engineering the bombing of Marines in Beruit.
-Funding and arming Hezzbollah, Hamas and God knows who else.
-Their nut job President claiming he will remove Israel from the earth.
Found this from CNN:
Iranian leader: Wipe out Israel - CNN
Yes, you can read about the issue in full here:
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Israel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The idiom 'wiped from the map' doesn't even exist in their language in the first place. The idea that Iran were threatening destruction (implicitly nuclear attacks) is false.
They have weapons of mass destruction, do they? This is all sounding so familiar.
Silly Mark. The enlightened peoples of the post 9/11 world know that 'weapon of mass destruction' can refer to pretty much any object... your car, for instance, could be used as such a weapon. Are you suggesting there weren't any cars in Iraq?
Silly silly silly. Come along now, this is the modern era.
I don't have a car.
Wait, does this mean Iraq wasn't behind the 9/11 attacks?
Iran is known to have an ACTUAL nuclear program for some time. It's not known whether or not they actually have create nukes yet (doubtful) but they are only creating them as insurance against US aggression in the region. A superpower illegally invades and imposes it rules on a good number of your neighbours, wouldn't you prepare for war with them? The US military is currently the biggest threat to peace in the middle east, we were the ones who helped heavily arm them in the first place.
i was just reading an article which pointed out that their nut job president never said he was going to wipe israel off the map. Turning Back From the Point of No Return | Foreign Policy Journal do you research and dont parrot shit you see on faux news.
Are you a Christian?
israel wants to defend themselves. why dont we let them? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_ECg...layer_embedded
Who's killing Iranian nuclear scientists? - CNN.com
My money's on Israel :-?
It's kinda funny how all of their nuclear scientists are being killed and the West pretends not to know anything about it.
Things just keep getting hotter with Iran. A few others on the site have said it already, but it looks like we're heading for another pointless war unless something can be done to stop all the bullshit.
That article was literally 4 pages of rampant speculation from every side. Still interesting that it hasn't been on the news and yeah I agree, you guys are heading to Iran next, hopefully alone.
Never mind lol just walked to the living room and my dad said it was on the news just then lol
Just imagine how the US would react if American nuclear scientists kept being killed on home soil.
It can't think of anybody who would follow the US into war this time.
Edit: Not a foreign aggressor, not a foreign aggressor...

Fucking Christ. And people wonder why our troops are losing so much respect. :shakehead2:
Considering all the shit Obama's done so far, I wouldn't put it past him to be the one that ordered the assassination of Iranian Scientists. He's a discrete sort of bastard. While the Republicans are all beating their war drums he'd rather handle everything with SEAL teams and predator drones.
*sigh* so much for Obamas change. Well, I suppose we did change from Iraq to Iran...I mean...cant let that persian empire return and all that.
Of course, I didnt buy in to Obama's hype anyway...why cant the people get it through their skulls to vote for someone who will focus on our home issues and economy before other countries?
The hostage crisis was blowback from 1953 when CIA ousted Mossadegh and put the Shah in power. They brought it on themselves. I have a feeling the US media never mentions that but only makes them look like "freedom hating terrorists". It was called "Operation Ajax". Google it.
If you paid any attention to Obama during the 2008 election cycle, an aggressive campaign against terrorism, primarily in Afghanistan and Pakistan were at the forefront of his policy platform. Why people are all of a sudden surprised by our actions of there is beyond me, because his intentions on that matter were always strong.
First, It was Bin laden and Al quieda that was behind 911, Then it was discovered that Iraq was behind the 911 attacks, Then it was suspected Iran was behind 911. But recently Ancient Alien theorists suggest that Ancient aliens from another planet were really behind the 911 terrorist attacks... :P
Iran isn't really hurting for energy resources enough to need nuclear reactors. It has fourth largest oil and second largest natural gas reserves in the world. It exports oil. In addition, it's in the middle of the desert -- it could pop up solar power if it wanted to.
Iran could focus on its energy efficiency; regardless of the type of energy it produces, it still loses over a billion dollars due to poor efficiency. Iran could focus on energy efficiency before starting a different type of energy.
So this brings us to nuclear energy. Why is Iran making nuclear power if it really doesn't "need" it? This leads me to conclude that Iran probably actually IS pursuing another cause, which is nuclear weapons.
If Iran actually WAS taking the higher road of using the nuclear reactors for only energy, then Iran could very easily say, "hey, United Nations, come take a look at our energy plants! Look at what we've done with solar, hydroelectric, coal, oil, wind, -- as well as nuclear plants. Look at how we're addressing the problems of the nuclear waste from the nuclear plants. We're following global safety standards, and we'd be happy to have global safety inspectors come visit us! In fact, we'd be happy to have feedback from other nations to improve our power plants to address some of our issues and concerns."
But Iran isn't doing that, obviously. And that has me concerned.
You are concerned because Iran might be developing nuclear weapons and yet Israel
1. Refuses to sign nuclear non-proliferation treaty
2. was shown to have amuggled nuclear triggers out of the united states
3. Most likely has fully functional nuclear weapons but won't confirm or deny
4. Is aggresively hostile towards its neighbors and is occupying a foreign state
5. Is engaging in naziesque deportations of brown people and their leaders are making public statements like "Israel is only for the white man"
You are only concerned about Iran because your government and the media wants you to be concerned about iran. You are being lead like a puppet on a string.
Although your post was not directed towards me, I do feel a strong urge to reply. You are dead wrong when you think the issue here is with the media. I felt that Iran was a threat many years ago when you wouldn't hear anything negative about it on TV!
Here we have a mentally unstable psychopathic Muslim leader who wants to rule the world -- just like many of his other islamist buddies. Israel cannot under ANY circumstances be compared with Iran.
Israel is allowed to have nuclear weapons, but Israel does NOT have a desire to spread jihad. Israel also does NOT want Sharia law (islamic law) to rule the world.
There is a big difference between the two!
I agree
Again agree, it would be pretty funny for a jewish state though lol second, also could you please prove that the Iranian Government want to spread the Sharia Law to rule the world? Thats a huge accusation and I would very much to see a prove for that o_O
Again I couldn't agree more. Because Iran doesn't occupy some area illegal like the Israel Government does.
Here an fine Article from Sandy Tolan on the Human effects of the Israel occupation of Palestinian territories.
