New, Even Worse, Economic Crisis in America's Future

I was watching a little TV today when an ad for this article/video came up, it said to go to a website called newamerica4.com so I did. On this website is a video or text version (I read the text version not the video, but I think they're the same) talking about the US currency failing and huge inflation, I wanted to hear your thoughts on this, please take the time to read it and tell me what you think about it's credibility. Here's a link to it Stansberry's Investment Advisory this will take you to a video about it, or if you don't want to watch that you can go to the website then try to go to a different site then click cancel, which will give you the text version. Or you could just look at it here
Spoiler for the article (viewing it here won't give you the pictures of graphs they use or the bolded or different fonts/colors):

So what do you guys think?
"For a long time it gave me nightmares, having to witness an injustice like that. It was a constant reminder of how unfair this world can be, I can still hear them taunting him. 'Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids!'... How come they just couldn't give him some cereal?"

I skimmed a lot of it, since I already know everything the person was talking about in the article. I don't really like his style, because he comes across as an alarmist, or like a cars salesmen trying to sell you something. That said, most of the stuff in the article is true.

I would take all the advise and situations in the article seriously, but I would absolutely not subscribe to the news letter or whatever they are selling.

There is a very serious threat to the US dollar, and it could very well face hyperinflation. Is everything going to collapse within a year? Well that is a bit more questionable. It definitely could, but it may not. Given current trends, things will get a lot worse, very quickly. However, there are real attempts to try to end the trend we are on. If Ron Paul becomes the next president for example, we may be able to turn things around before a collapse occurs.

If you have a lot of money, I would have some in gold in silver. Both have very strong fundamentals and are a great hedge against things like inflation. If you look at gold and silver they been going up for years, and will likely continue to do so. They are both amazing for long term investment. They however have a lot of volatility short term. They get in a range of about 10% of their value and they go up and down like crazy. So you don't want to get in the habit of watching their prices on a day to day biases because it will drive you crazy. However long term, it is a very good investment, and will protect you from inflation.

6 months of food like they suggest, is very prudent. You have nothing to lose since you will end up eating it no matter what happens, and often you can get food cheaper in bulk, so you can actually save a lot of money with food storage. It is just smart to have food, in case something happens. It doesn't even have to be economic related, if there is some natural disaster it helps for that too.

If you got any questions, I would be happy to answer them. I wouldn't pay for whatever they are selling. Any information they have, you can get for free. I would check out this forum if you are interested in that type of stuff.

There are some extreme people on the forum who believe the worst case situation will happen, but most people are pretty knowledgeable and know what is going on, and they can probably answer any question you have. From what is going on in the economy or the government, best way to invest, to how to can your own food.

Unfortunately though, Britain pursued a socialist national agenda. The government took over all of the major industries. Like Barack Obama, Britain's leaders wanted to "spread the wealth around." Pretty soon the country was flat broke.
      ROFL

Now, the first two paragraphs smelled mildly of bullshit to me, including the idea that in ten years he went from a brand new company to "one of the largest and most recognized investment research companies in the world", even though, as I'll admit, I don't know much about investment research companies. It felt like there was an ulterior motive, the kind of feeling you get from someone trying to sell you something, for example. But I read and scanned on, until I came to that, what I quoted. "Like Barrack Obama, Britain's leaders wanted to 'spread the wealth around'". Those words in that context make me want to puke, and I can see whose best interests this guy has in mind.

Let' make this a little more breif: this guy is a salesman. Sorry I rambled on there (I've been editing this post for half an hour), but it's 2 AM and my critical thinking isn't exactly at full tilt.

      Here's a little more detail:

Daily Kos: "End Of America 2011", Porter Stansberry's Newest Scam

He starts by tooting his own horn on how he predicted the collapse of GM and the Wall St. reaction to the housing bubble. He conveniently forgets to mention his 1.5 million dollar fraud fine from the SEC over investment “advice” he sold through a news letter. The SEC claimed and the judge agreed that the report was “replete with lies”.

There is no doubt he is a salesman, and I wouldn't buy anything from that site. Like I said I didn't read it all and skimmed a lot of it, however his basic premise does sound true. A lot of the issues he brings up is true, but he is also overstating some things in order to scare people so they will buy.

I know there are a great deal of free articles, and news letters that talk about the same sort of things though, and they are much more reliable. Just takes a little searching online.

I saw this commercial yesterday! He said "Something big will happen in 2011. Will you be prepared?" And I thought, "well since tomorrow is the last day of 2011... I probably won't be prepared."

After a little perusing, I have concluded that he is most definitely a salesman.
