Legal harmonization between the states with the ability to sue companies across state boundaries solves that problem entirely. However, there's no reason for the federal environment bureaucracy.

THAT is part of a Libertarian environmentalist movement. If you extend property rights to include a "right to clean air" it would make excessive pollution illegal.
Or you can go with the Libertarian idea of "no subsidies for ANYONE!" Right now Big Oil gets more subsidies than green energy (by far) worldwide... if oil subsidies are dropped, gas prices would rise to where they SHOULD be, making more efficient cars and alternative sources of fuel have a huge increase in demand.
Right now we're all living a lie about how cheap gas is. It should be at about 6 dollars a gallon in the US, but here it's been between 3-3.50 for a few years, sometimes above (and sometimes below) that. Demand would encourage renewable investments. END THE SUBSIDIES!
It's also tragic how the IMF and World Bank told Nigeria to up their gas prices so now Nigerians (Nigeria's 99% makes less than 2300 a year) are paying 2-5 times what they used to pay for gas.
The IMF and World Bank do economically what the USSR did militarily.
RP came in 2nd in New Hampshire. Considering only 4 years ago he would've been in like 4th of 5th, this is amazing stuff. He's now in 2nd concerning delegates, but only 1 ahead of that crazy nutter Santorum.
If you tracked the election last time (like me), Romney didn't get any more votes in New Hampshire or Iowa than last time. Ron Paul, on the other hand, more than doubled his support.
Even a 2nd place finish in the primary race is a victory for libertarianism. He's the first serious libertarian since Barry Goldwater. (He would technically be in first in delegates if Iowa had their official conventions I betcha, since Santorum has no long-term support.) Paul always grabs extra delegates in caucus states since his supporters are insanely ... supportive.
And when they argue "electability..." Ron Paul has won 12 elections... and he (once again) gets the youth vote, and has more Democrats and independents supporting him than any other Republican running... Does. Not. Compute.
Yeah the argument that Ron Paul is not electable is horse shit. He's the best shot the republicans have at beating Obama. Romney couldn't beat Obama in his wildest dreams cause every liberal would support Obama over a bible-thumping fundamentalist. If it were Romney and Obama, I'd vote 3rd party. If it were Paul and Obama, I'd vote Paul. I think a lot of liberals feel the same way.
I am doing precisely that. And by 3rd party, I'm supporting Gov. Johnson; he will have the greatest ballot access (all 50 states) and according to recent polls, he has a chance at winning his homestate of New Mexico; which would be a huge "fuck you" to the establishment. (Also, I DO agree with him on most things; so I'm not just voting for the most likely to be successful 3rd Partier, but the one who is the best in my opinion.)
You can vote or not, I don't think it makes any difference. the president is a puppet and if he doesn't play ball he won't last. Look at Kennedy when he tried to end the federal reserve. Elections also can be rigged, but by all means vote for whoever you want. Look how optimistic everyone was about Obama, now look. It doesn't matter, the New World Order controls our political process. The whole system is flawed. The Tea-partiers are a trap for the right and the occupy movement is a trap for the left to keep them all quarantined and separated. Same with democrat vs. republican. Go ahead and vote, but it won't make a difference because the whole system is broken, or set up. The house always wins.
Like I said in my post, this is humor to me. I don't agree with all this brain transplant shit, especially the Paul McCartney reference! That is hilarious. But the message that I like is that there is no savior, we have to do it ourselves. Ron Paul is not going to be able to fix anything. We have to do it.Quote:
Omnis Dei said: I liked your post until I saw your link. Now I dislike it. What did I just read? Obama really cared before the Illuminati got to him? If Ron Paul posed a real threat they'd do brain surgery on him like Paul McCartney? Wikileaks and Anonymous are CIA infiltrated Inside Jobs?

he gives not one single fuck about our environment (wants to encourage our continued addiction to oil with further offshore drilling, wants to remove restrictions on drilling, wants to "lift government roadblocks" on the use of coal and nuclear power, wants to eliminate the EPA claiming that polluters should answer directly to property owners in court (because that has worked great before, right?)), he states that "The free market – not government – is the solution to America’s energy needs.", an idea which is entirely contradicted by past experience, his statements seem to indicate a disbelief in human-caused global warming as he states that federal regulation is designed by "environmental alarmists" to "punish traditional energy production" in order to "make energy sources they favor more 'economical'". In one paragraph he urges people to fight for "limited government and personal freedom", and in the next he explains that he thinks abortions should be illegal. He states "We must follow the Biblical mandate of using honest weights and measures", suggesting that his public policy is directly influenced by religion, which quite contradicts the constitution he raves about defending.
All of this is right from his platform as it is found at the time of this posting at Ron Paul 2012 Official Campaign Website.
People have got to start looking at the big picture in these kinds of matters. As they say, it's the bus you don't see that kills you.
There, feels good to get that out of my system. Ok, proceed to flame.
There's paranoid, and then there's 'protests against the government are just more evidence of a totalitarian government' paranoid.
I don't even know how to feel about politics these days. I can't shake the feeling that there are too many variables to account for to possibly make an informed decision.
One thing I am sure of is that people place way too much value in any president's abilities. Granted, the American president is arguably the single most powerful man on the planet, the scope of his powers are still very limited. He has to deal with congress to get any legislation through. He has to deal with the constant propaganda war that marginalize his successes and magnify or fabricate his failures. He has to deal with angry voters when he realizes one of his campaign promises is actually a very bad idea. People seem to think the president is some all-powerful wizard who can make the entire government bend to his will. He's not.
I would not even dream of calling the US president the most powerful man in the world. He's just the elected spokesperson for whatever interests put him into office. The Central Bankers are more powerful than the White House, they not only own the President but the Congress as well.
True, Ben Bernackie is probably the most powerful man in the world.
I am an Englishman so my opinion probably counts for little but he is the president the USA needs. He is the only candidate that has a long record of standing firm behind everything he says. A true libertarian and a staunch observer of the constitution and bill of rights. I don't agree with everything he stands for but isn't it interesting that he gets more donations from the military than any other candidate and the least amount of donations from the bankers? It has made me very angry the way the mainstream media has blatantly ignored him and the public support for him over the last three months. However, his support just keeps getting stronger because he has a very sound economic policy and the only viable foreign policy to create more peace and stability in the world. Please watch the video of the highlights of his contribution to the recent debate in South Carolina.

I was genuinely shocked that that dumbass crowd actually boo'ed him when he brought up the golden rule. Sort of shows that they're probably just all "KILL NON-WHITES" warmongers.
The fact that Paul gets the most donations from active military members also goes to show that the other candidates, in all honesty, probably don't care about the boots on the ground. I imagine they think of it as a game of Rome: Total War. There's no connection to the units, they're just pawns used for some victory. Perhaps that's why they're so ready to go to war whereas Paul isn't?
'Golden rule...'
'BOOOO!!!'
Lol America.
Yeah the military is also very much in favor of Occupy Wallstreet. Veterans make up a large number of the protesters but the media focuses on the drum circle aspect and ignores the fact that our veterans are more disillusioned about our government than anybody.
Absolutely man!
I believe the candidate with the correct froeign policy is of grave, extreme importance. The following testimony at a congressional progressive caucus by veteran Kristofer Goldsmith brought a few tears to my eyes because I understand the brutality of these wars and the root causes of them. It also explains why the military is supporting Ron Paul more than any other candidate.
