Hoax. As the first commentor noted, a lot of those sounds seem out of place, and some definately don't sound like something that would be picked up so clearly by a camera mic. Iff you take a look, a lot of the uploaders of those videos have only a couple videos total. The noise in the Costa Rica news report video and the Colorado video are exactly the same sound, and the way the echoes just stop at the end doesn't fit with a mountainous setting. In the Kiev video, there are people just walking around at a casual pace, showing no reaction whatsoever to the supposed noises.
I refuse to believe that there would not be millions of people that heard these noises and extensive news coverage. Instead we have one news video from Costa Rica, and one from Ukraine, both discussing the videos themselves.
Probably a marketing scheme for Roland Emmerich's new movie

that's the sound of the habs sucking ass...
Most are different and unrelated. So my guesses would be jets, power generators, thunder, hoaxes, and poor use of recording technology. It is actually very easy to pick up strange sounds in videos and tape recordings, especially if play things at a high volume.
Yeah I was guessing hoax too, but there's so damned many of them. As you pointed out Supernova, some of them are really obvious fakes, some of them just sound like wind (like the american baseball one) and some of them don't even sound the same at all.
Reddit is currently going for advertising campaign though lol
Although it is a bit long winded for that.
What would cause this to happen if it is just a hoax? It's obviously not the same people uploading all of them.
Suppose either some forum or just people catching on to it and making their own....
Dawson Creek one sounded like a moose call.
Well.... you would know
The epitome of extended of discussion.
