Goodbye, First Amendment:
*sigh* My poor America. It's like watching a beloved family member die a slow, agonizing death.

RIP Founding Fathers?
But anyways, this isn't news for countries like China. Check out this photograph, taken at the Tiananmen protest 1989 (Beijing).

i f_cking hate patchouli, good riddance.
You're very blunt aren't you? ;)
I'd stand in front of some tanks if I had to.
Ohhhhhh GreenHavoc, you've really done piss me off now! Patchouli is surpassed as a fragrance only by lavender.
Not much to offer on-topic. It's kinda old news.
Maybe we should go protest it :P
Sensationalist headline is sensationalist, but what else is new?
Also, the text I found for the involved portion of USC was very similar to the text of the bill.
Is it accurate, however, that the previous law only made it a crime if the person knew the area was restricted?
I don't see how this can last. I bet many people voted for it without reading the full bill.
Watch for this to be challenged...frequently.
I read the whole thing also.
And I know there are a lot of stupid laws out there...but that doesn't make them right.
This does nothing to protect anyone. One good over-publicized arrest could make all the difference.
So, the G8 summit was moved to Camp David...no protesters will be anywhere near there.
I think I'm kinda sad about this.
A few years ago the Labour government in the UK passed a law making it illegal to protest within a mile of the palace of Wesminster in the city of London. Defiance can lead to a prison sentence of a maximum of two years.
