What do you think of the next great depression continued since the 1930s?
Will martial law happen? Will the gov go against the people? Will FEMA camps be used again? and will WWIII happen?

How different is Florida than any other state when it comes to property/land/farms?

There is still time for the American public to look past the distractions and stop the nightmare that is headed toward eruption. Our two party system is destroying us. People are so caught up in whether the Republican dipshit is better than the Democrat dipshit that they aren't stopping and noticing that both parties are taxing, borrowing, and spending us toward another severe depression and setting the Constitution on fire (Patriot Act, NDAA, executive orders, destruction of gun rights, etc.) to move us very rapidly toward totalitarianism. If people keep letting this stuff slide just so they can oppose the other party, we are going to be in a horrific depression, at which point the government will skyrocket us into totalitarian rule. That is how it is done. That is what Franco, Mussolini, and Hitler did. It works. It is real. It is happening now. The American public better wake up, or we are fucked.

Not only America, but other countries will also tag along because it is affecting the world, this economic meltdown and depression. Obvious a NWO will occur because of this depression, making governments more powerful than before, and fucking us over while we gained our trust to them shattered.
You believe FEMA camps will be used and military will go against us? I know where i live we obviously have fema camps as well, what i was surprised to know in the past few years is why our gov wants to buy 64 F-35 jets for? when we never needed those kind of high tech air jets? are we getting ready for ww3? why did our gov backed out on the jets deal with usa last minute? or is that just a lie and we really do have these jets in secret? and the deal is still on? did they just tell us this so we can keep quiet and test our trust in the gov through media?

As far as I can tell it isn't. Although the joke may be that people always want to live here so land values may go up.

^ When somebody says something about buying land in Florida they're referring to an old joke. If somebody is really gullible you tell them "If you believe THAT then I've got some land to sell you in Florida" (referring to the Everglades, swamps where you can't build anything). It basically means that whatever was just said (that the person apparently believed) was a lie.

For some reason Florida has been hit particularly hard by the housing crash, to the point where I would say that housing is undervalued.

Detroit, on the other hand, has been completely decimated (like some houses dropping over 99% in value) but it's still overvalued.

Ah, the "timeshare in Florida" joke. I didn't intend that. You can actually get some really good deals in Florida IF you do your due diligence and don't buy a fake timeshare.

I know about Detroit, the housing prices dropped because of the ghetto people took over the area by graffitti, burning houses down for revenge, killings is sky high probably higher than California, LA. Who would want to live there?
BTW, my husband is from there and knows how it is, anyways who wants to live in florida when weather there mostly is bad luck, especially when it's about hurricanes, count how many hurricanes they had in history.

This is true. About 5 years ago, right before it got bad, my grandparents bought a 2 bedroom townhouse for $150K. My friend moved three months ago and his 5 bedroom 4 bath two story corner lot house sold for $160K when we bought ours with 2/3rds the are at $230 or so

The housing prices dropped for a great number of reasons, though this is likely the result and not the cause...at least not the initial cause.

Another reason, the mayor caused the city to be bankrupt, so actually detroit had a reccession way before the whole nation did, reccession to them is peanuts now.

The decline in Detroit has been going on since long before you or I were born. Anything done recently has merely allowed small parts of it to rise or fall.

Detroit's Beautiful, Horrible Decline - Photo Essays - TIME

And then this: The Urbanophile » Blog Archive » The Reasons Behind Detroit’s Decline by Pete Saunders

Detroit’s decline has been going on far longer than most people realize, because of the city’s lack of attention to creating a pleasant built environment. Evidence? A Time Magazine article entitled “Decline in Detroit” from 1961 – yes, 1961 – had the following to say in its opening paragraph:

If ever a city stood as a symbol of the dynamic U.S. economy, it was Detroit. It was not pretty. It was, in fact, a combination of the grey and the garish: its downtown area was a warren of dingy, twisting streets; the used-car lots along Livernois Avenue raised an aurora of neon. But Detroit cared less about how it looked than about what it did—and it did plenty.

Who says you have to buy into the status quo for 'getting hired' by an existing company? Create your own career.

Can’t Find a Dream Job? Create Your Own : zenhabits

My sister has done this several times - she started a little local newsletter and went around selling advertising space in it which became a fulltime job for her and she made decent money at it. Later she took yoga lessons for a couple years then started teaching yoga classes. Then still later she did the same with belly dancing. Now she's just opened a new studio in St. Louis in a nice trendy neighborhood and is doing very well.

You're welcome - and I'm sure there are much better links - I just did a quick Googie and that's one of the first ones I found. One of the best things she said in that article was that her sister assumed she had to buy or rent studio space in order to teach dance, but that she could actually teach it after school in an existing space while it isn't being used. That's thinking outside of the box! My sister became an assistant and then a teacher in the class she was taking after a few sessions and so didn't need to even think that much - she simply switched gradually from student to teacher in the same classroom. You could undoubtedly teach painting without getting a degree and applying to schools. Mainly just a matter of figuring out where and then getting word out to prospective students.

For her newsletter my sister talked to local store owners and got it put on their shelves and also included subscription coupons inside, and as her readership increased more and more stores accepted it which increased readership further. Plus she had fun doing it - she'd go around to various area venues and try them out, then write up articles about how much fun they were, whether the restroom facilities have changing rooms, accessibility and parking, etc. The newsletter was aimed at metro-east places where families (especially with kids) can go to have fun or spend a day, so it served a valuable community need. Of course it helped that she's naturally a real go-getter and loves talking to people - pretty much the opposite of me! I went with her on a couple of the assignments as well as drawing the covers for the first couple of years.
