      I can't stand to see an infant upset or hurt; I start wanting to help it however I can. I think I posess a strong paternal instinct or something.

      However, my siblings (my 8- and 9-year-old ones, not my baby brother) are annoying as fuck, especially my sister. I'm worried that my kids might be like that. And then come the teenage years, augh...!

      Plus, they could be born with defects or something. Not to mention that I'd hate to put my hypothetical wife through the excruciating pain of childbirth in the first place (I suppose C-section is always an option, though; or adoption).
      Funny, I'm the opposite way. I think babies are pretty disgusting to look at, not cute in the slightest (I do find puppies cute), they're little bags of disease, and they're annoying as fuck. Older kids are way more fun because you can actually talk to them and have extremely interesting conversations. They're even more interesting than adults because they often aren't as brainwashed.

      Same as Cmind! We understand each other

      I can relate a lot... I'm not totally asexual, I'd say I'm like 50% asexual and 90% aromantic. My parents love to tell me how much they want grandchildren and I tell them they ought to adopt a few because I'm pretty sure I won't be bringing them any. I've been hearing for a decade that I'm in a phase I'll grow out of. I have told my parents how I feel and they certainly didn't approve (they don't approve of most of the rest of me either, personality-wise, I've long since given up on it) but they act like they've either forgotten or thought I was bullshitting them (also nothing new). I've really gotten to the point where I don't care if my parents accept what I tell them or not. I did at one point, but no longer. Not living with them anymore helps.

      So glad to know there are so many of us on the same boat

      @AstralMango,

      I decided when I was quite young (age 10) that I neither want to get married nor have kids. Now I'm 24 and I still stand by my decision. I'm not asexual; I am greatly interested in sex. But I just want to be free from any sort of commitment. I'm not very fond of babies. They're okay as long as I don't have to see them or hear them.

      I very well understand how tough it can be when your family is conservative. My family is highly orthodox but I'm not being pressurised as of now; I have an unmarried elder sister, so all the pressure is on her at the moment. Though I have mentioned to my mom that I have no intention of having kids, she hasn't really taken it seriously. Here in my country it's just assumed that girls never want to get married but the parents just find her a groom anyway and get her married off and she has no say in the matter. So, a girl saying she doesn't want to marry or have kids..it falls on deaf ears.

      Not many girls find the courage to break the norm. But if you think you can, you can. When you resist the emotional blackmailing and think logically, the situation is completely under your control. After all, what can my family do if I decide not to marry? I don't live with them or depend on them in any way. They can cry and complain, but ultimately they will have to get over it.

      You're young. Right now, focus on becoming independent. The more independent you are, the better you can make this work in your favour.

      Here's a little comic to cheer you up:
