Mastering Sensory Memory Recall

We can just close our eyes any time and see anything, though not crystal clear. This is the same for other senses too. We can recall the taste, smell and the texture of a chocolate bar, hear the sound its packet makes, close our eyes and actually eat it. (not that im thinking about chocolate all the time :whistle:)

The question is: Is there a way to make sensory memory recall so intense so that figurefly doesn't prefer a real chocolate over a daydream chocolate?

**No sleeping allowed. No sensory deprivation method allowed (no float tanks and such).**

I wonder if it is possible to master the art of daydreaming, sensory recall and bring the experience into our daily lives.

I would guess, No. Master meditation and you can have serious enhancements in this area, but they will be dream like. People say dreams can be more real than real life, but I do not agree. Having sat FULLY aware in various intense dreams and analyzed this, I find even intense dreams render the food at perhaps only 30% intensity.

When I was child i was "playing" some times lying on bed before sleep. I imagined a choir of voices singing (don't laugh :)) anthem of the USSR. In the beginning of game it was just fantasy, but in 10-20 minutes I was starting to actually hear it. And then i just "changed" text of anthem and listened to choir singing what I want. So yes. It is possible.

I kinda laughed Straight, to be honest. :D Jokes aside, are you sure those weren't auditory hallucinations before entering sleep? Because I clearly hear stuff like intense cellos and can sometimes alter what I hear, but these are auditory hallucinations which I can only experience as I'm entering the sleep mode.

sivason, I agree with you on dreams lacking taste intensity. But when it comes to sound and sight I don't know, I had seen unforgettable scenes and heard unbelievable, intense music. Also often thought these were unreachably beautiful to experience in waking life. This is how I "feel" about some of my dream experiences but at the same time, when I do some logical reasoning I think I'm wrong since our dream material is our waking life.

100% I could do it with my eyes open. In daytime I also tried but it was hard cause of noise.
