Thread: WW3, Is it coming?

Specifically, the deals you're talking about are a multi-billion dollar reactor Iran is purchasing from Russia and a multibillion dollar oil trade going to China.

But I don't forsee it causing problems.

Russia wants the money, but they wouldn't go to war for it. Halting oil to China would certainly piss them off, but it wouldn't cause them to go to war.

Also, Iran will take another five years to get nukes, as a conservative estimate. They WILL be getting nukes though, no matter what we say or do, barring an all out invasion and destruction of Iran (Not just stationing troops, I mean DESTROYING Iran.) The UN will do nothing because the UN is too inept and pathetic to do anything.

A much more interesting, and likely, starting point for a WWIII would be Palestine. Hamas, a political party advocating and violently rallying for the destruction of Israel, recently won 76 of 134 seats in their legislature. Palestine is a nuclear power, and with an increasing number of radicals in government, they might just be pushed over the breaking point. If so, Iran would back them, and perhaps a few other Muslim nations, though the US would stand behind Israel (who is already a nuclear power AND a considerable conventional military force), and will likely have the backing of most of Europe. China would likely throw it's weight against Iran if forced into the conflict, since China doesn't want other nations in possession of nukes, but would likely remain neutral as long as possible.
N. Korea might take advantage of the situation to make some threats, but they don't have nukes as of yet and likely cannot get them.

Be it noted that such a conflict wouldn't be a traditional World War, and could easily be won. That's why it's unlikely to happen: Iran and Palestine know that they'd be mostly alone facing several nuclear powers as well as more military forces than they could ever imagine.

Also, a place to look for growing conflict is the coming onset of Cold-War type feelings between China and the US (Verbal Conflict)

I don't think america will really invade Iran. If they will, I think there would just about be a civl war. Allso, I would like to see the UN or the european countries did something about america's power-penis.

But when America really does start a war with Iran, they or some of their fiends might just like to nuke america. Iraq doesn't have fucking weapons of mass destruction, Iran & friends do.

How is Palestine a nuclear power? It isn't even a country yet! It's an area that is still under Israeli rule.

WWIII, which won't happen, will be from some unseen thing that will happen in the far-far-away.

How can it be under Isreal rule if there is not such thing as Palestine. The point is its just people who think that Israel should hand over there country (tiny country - they can take anything they want why then Israel) to them. They made up this thing saying that its realy palestine. Since when does it say on a genouine map Israel is called Palestine!

Pluss i suppose there will be another war but its not likely they will call it under the name WORLD WAR.

Palestine is analagous to the Crimean, Basque, Quebecois, Chiapatas and other seperatist movements. They're not a nation yet, although they're probably the closest to achieving its own sovereignty.

I don't think that WW3 will be caused by Iran or any other such countries, although they might well be the catalyst for greater conflict - the real danger for war lies elsewhere.

In the next few decades it is thought that there will be an emergence of two new world powers - China and India. Both economies are growing at amazing rates and while they will both certainly encounter problems along the way, it looks like they are pretty certain to be the two next economic superpowers. As history shows, with economic growth and dominance comes military expansion, and perhaps more agression.

The real danger seems to be American neo-con advisors that see the economic and military expansion as a direct threat and challenge to America's dominance, which it probably is but no country can be dominant forever. The neo-con agenda seems to be to encourage further economic and military ties with India in the hope that this might act as a balance towards China.

We've actually been going through this kinda stuff in my politics lecture at uni, it's pretty interesting, but with any sort of predictions you can only base it on current information which is constantly changing. They gave us heaps of internet links and everything on it, I should probably have a bit more of a look, but that's my general thought on a possible WW3.
