thank you all so much for your helpful and witty replies such as
andQuote:
Holy crap!!! My clock says 3:57! The Midwayers are telling me to shoot some one.
and [insert annoyingly tired and overused snappy mockery, which, is strikingly similar to the last annoyingly tired and overused snappy mockery]Quote:
It's driving me nuts! I saw a license plate with 5555 on it. Holy shit, how am I supposed to continue my life?
the only thing better than the amount of the replies are the steady increase of UN-wittiness and UN-freshness packed into each sad and pathetic attempt to mock this thread worse than the last attempt, [which btw i dont take this subject THAT seriously]
although for the few people who were kind, sorry i dont mean you.
---
anyway, i only asked because i read through one of those "spirit guardian" websites, which i thought at first was a joke, but when i realized it was serious, i went here and posted this to find out if there were actual believers of this SOMEWHERE. since these forums have alot of people aware of 'paranormal' related things i figured i should try here first. its not really paranoia i was experiencing, certainly not schitzophrenia. what i meant by paranoid was, was there a plausible reason to believe all that or was i just being well, silly?
also note dancing banana in org. post for said, un-seriousness.
another example of fresh, witty mockeries!
next thing you know, someone's going to put "PS I hate this thread" as their signature in another attempt to be sarcastic and witty!
whoa too late!
[haa sorry mark it actually IS pretty witty lol.
and i can see how you thought i was a paranoid freak at first, with 12 locks in my door and a shotgun leaned up against my wall of newspaper clippings about signs of the apocalypse but im afraid you got the wrong idea about me.;)]
ps. <-----[lol] sorry again, i dont usually get involved with trying to flame people on the internet, its just i got a little frustrated with the amount of shots at me for seemingly no reason. the internet's a mean place. =/
I remember one time on Teen Jeopardy that someone bid that amount on final jeopardy. I'm pretty sure that most people didn't understand just how funny that is. (He got the answer right but was already way behind the first place kid)
I don't think the shots were aimed at you, but just the whole concept and that site. OMG hold on a sec! God is trying to contact me. O it's a sly attempt this time but I see it. My clock said 9:42 when I started to read the thread. Yes 9:42. Look at it again. Clearly if you add up the 4 and the 2 and then subtract it from the 9 you get 3 which is right in between 4 and 2 and also 3 times 3 is 9! Coincidence? I think not!

I use this analogy when people bring this topic or one of it's nature up.
My friend got an ugly green Ford car.
They are now everywhere!
Holy cow ..Awareness!
another shining example of how original and creative this thread's posters are at making up witty remarks.
seriously people, if you didnt understand what i wrote in my last like, paragraph long rant at how old the "OMG ALIENS/GOD/MIDWAYERS/[insert imaginary being cliche] are [insert ridiculous thing] my [insert random object]" is, [and sadly most of them go by that formula] then.. wow.
and i think being called "schitzophrenic" is going 'a little' too far. and maybe to you and me the whole midwayers thing sounds crazy but its going way too far to use vulgarities against the people what believe in that stuff. just be respectful to what people actually believe is what im saying.
lol trust me i could have gone on and on with the "paranoid psycho" stereotype but i figured you had gotten the point... although, the people here seem to have the need to re-drill ideas in over and over long after the original idea had sunk in already, with the exception of being worded slightly differently.
lulz
But you see, the reason the repetition and standard formula works is that these paranoid type claims are made over and over. Wasn't there some movie or something about the clock numbers? I seem to recall having a thought about "important" times many years ago, too.
uhhhhhh i remember "the number 23" lol there was a reference to me becoming a paranoid serial killer like jim carrey's character in that movie somewhere earlier in this thread.
i guess you make sense but this is just new to me. often people dont accuse me of being a paranoid szchitso-whatsit [possibly homicidal] maniac 13+ times [ooooh 13! see its not so great when I do it eh?] for one innocent inquiry about symmetrical numbers on the clock. but people like to be as thorough as possible in showing how other people are more crazy and stupid than they are when such an opportunity comes up.
but when you really think about it, is it really that crazy? the whole midwayers thing...
i mean, billions of people seem to have no problem in believing that an invisible all powerful super being is to thank for bringing them the canned corn they're eating for dinner from his magic work office in the clouds..
im pretty sure if you were raised since birth to believe that aliens send you messages through clocks or that you should be respectful to cows then you would have a good chance of believing in those things later on. as i said before, you should either be open minded to any possibility or... i think if you're going to reject one religion reject them all. ;]
:bowdown::banana:
lol i guess thats sort of a half statement. you shouldnt call other things that people believe "insane" unless you make it known that thats your opinion and not fact otherwise you might inadvertantly insult people.
lol!! i wasnt raised to believe in clock-modifying aliens but i was raised to believe in jesus. i cant help but think the whole praying to this invisible thing and our prayers will be answered thing ridiculous.
not to mention we dont even know like if it actually hears us or if he/she/it did, even cares about what we do with our lives.
this is not to say that i dont respect the beliefs of the people who believe in all that, thats just my opinion.
anyway, i guess im getting off-topic. im satisfied i was able to find SOME sort of common ground with someone so i doubt im going to care enough to write back to the next [OMFG [aliens/god/gary coleman] are [insert crazy act] my [random object]] thing shot at me and or this subject.
and btw for further clarification:
i dont personally believe in the midwayer thing or take it seriously, i originally started this thread to see if there were people who did.
Actually, yes. It is great when you do it because it shows that you're coming around to reason and common sense.
Uh, yes. It's quite crazy indeed. This has been my opinion (since you requested that people make the distinction).Quote:
but when you really think about it, is it really that crazy? the whole midwayers thing...
Very true.Quote:
i mean, billions of people seem to have no problem in believing that an invisible all powerful super being is to thank for bringing them the canned corn they're eating for dinner from his magic work office in the clouds..
Got it :goodjob2:Quote:
i dont personally believe in the midwayer thing or take it seriously, i originally started this thread to see if there were people who did.
an example of how ignorant people can be because of society's brainwashing. its amazing how every argument i make against some of the people in here have been perfectly demonstrated almost instantly by the next poster.
im not telling you to consider the midwayers thing itself, but just to be a little more open minded to ALL other beliefs and such. it may seem crazy to you but to others it might not be.
apparently you dont "got it" because of exibit A here:
if you had understood everything i said you would already know i never actually believed in the midwayers thing in the first place.
apparently there's a reason behind all of the mindless, repetitive redrilling of ideas; some of you just don't get it the first time. in your case, its been more than one.
and if you mention "common sense" i sincerely hope you're an atheist. if not, spare yourself the embarrassment and lie to me.
here's a recap of what ive been saying because you guys seem to like it when things are mindlessly repeated over and over:
1. you should respect other people's beliefs no matter how you were raised, otherwise, you're just being ignorant.
2. I <-----[referring to myself here, just to make sure you understand] do not, did not believe in the midwayers thing, just seeing if there were people who actually took it seriously.
3. please, do not refer to me as crazy, paranoid, schitzophrenic, etc. because its not like i believe in the midwayers thing; although even if I did, you still shouldn't say things like that to me. no one here is going up to you catholics and telling you that you've wasted every sunday talking to an imaginary friend.
So, in other words, no matter how absurd some one's statements might be, we're supposed to just nod and say "Wow, you are so correct about that! That sounds absolutely reasonable!"?
And yes, I understand that you are now saying you don't believe in that. That's why I said something about " coming around to reason".
Perhaps it would do you some good to re-read your original post. In said post, you had a serious notion that this numerology might have something to it. Now, your tune is being sung in a different key. It's quite ok that you've changed from thinking it might be true to thinking that maybe there's not anything to it. But don't act like we're being mean for pointing out the ridiculous nature of it all.
no. wow, okay. im must have said about 3 or more times already that you should at least be respectful towards other people's beliefs. to some people, their beliefs are important. im not telling you to listen to the first crazed homeless person telling you who shot jfk but when it comes to something that applies to like a way of life or religion you should follow that old rule of if you have nothing nice to say, dont say anything. wars have been fought over religion, you know?
again, i never said i did.
well i could list endless examples of things people believed in, that, looking through logic and common sense are completely ridiculous. [obviously]
but im not going to go and call each of those things ridiculous, not because im afraid of crazed religious zealots and such but im respectful towards what they believe in, because to them, its important.
if society raised us to worship clocks and to believe aliens and angels or w/e contacts us through clocks then im sure we would have a good chance of believing in that. and then we would be here saying that a man being dead and locked in tomb with a heavy boulder somehow came alive again and escaped as a magic ghost is ridiculous
and after rereading my original post, i guess i see what you were saying about me seeming serious; i was having one of those nights where for whatever reason i was a bit spooked and well, the mind works differently at night. however, i really never believed it, just because of my current mood i thought there might actually be people who believe in this stuff.
shows im still not believing in it..... also since you're so familiar with my first post you see that i didnt make one statement that can solidly mean "I believe in the midwayers theory"Quote:
or maybe its a stupid coincidence?
again,
i asked this. tell me, why would i ask about the validity of the core 'fact' of something i really believe in?Quote:
are aliens contacting me through manipulating the clock around me and making me check the time at these exact times to send me some sort of message? or maybe my subconscious just tells me to check the time when its symmetrical some how? and if it did, why?
a catholic doesnt say "did jesus really die and come back"?
you told me that i am "now" saying i never believed in it, correct?
