If, as we have discussed, Iraq's economic future depends on its ability to leverage its current assets, then there is a real uncertainty in its future, and a great possibility of economic instability. If Iraq never becomes prosperous, or simply takes too long to become prosperous, while other tyrannical governments threaten world peace, the cause of democracy around the world would suffer grave harm instead of benefiting from it.
