1. You don't know a damn thing about me, and my views on things like corporate greed and manipulation are probably much more complex than your one-track, post-a-link-because-I-can't-competently-express-my-point-of-view-myself mind can comprehend.
2. This forum is for art. Posting a bunch of links to highlight your grudge against corporate ideology is not art. Either give this thread some sort of artistic concept, or put it where it needs to be - whether the Lounge, Extended Discussion or Senseless Banter. You choose.
-
Fine if you don't think it's art put it in extended discussion.

so we just post youtube links about corporations?
I eat macdonalds n drink coca cola ervryday.

It's a bit hard not to isn't it. Stop supporting them. They are at every corner and in every shop. In your face constantly. I thought I may as well show other peoples art on the subject.
All I see is a big pyramid of coca-cola around the checkout. Just coca-cola everywhere. And Mcdonalds every few kilometers. That's getting a bit ridiculous since they are above any moral conduct with their monopoly control. It's just that they fund wars and other horrendous things with all that money they hoard. We need some art about that I think. It's not like anyone has the power to stop this abuse as an individual. But if we all wake up maybe we can wage this war and win it. Overcome this massive deception and maintain a more healthy livable standard of functioning. All you need is one person living properly to effect change. That ripples out and effects everything and a domino effect builds to eventually overcome what is primitive.

Mystic, I agree with you on that Commercialism, Greed and Dictatorial indoctrination, with ALOT of help from mankinds general tragically low IQ is the core of all of this World's problems.
The videos you showed, at least some of them, are Political Manifests. But that doesn't make it Art so I agree with Oneironaught on that one. He is much more openminded than you think, appearantly, and also much more openminded as you are: You can't judge what/who you don't know. Don't go calling people lemmings when you don't know them; It isn't gunna win you much sympathy and it's pointless.
If you want to share this that's totally cool, but I agree on that it isn't art and therefor shouldn't have been posted here. No need to get upset; This Topic is just in the wrong place. This board is meant for sharing Creativity of yourself or Artists you igmire. That's all.

Yeah, that looked (and sounded) a bit more like Beetlejuice than Ronald.
-
So Mystic, would you consider yourslef anti-capitalist?
-
Mystic, drop the ego man... chances that are that you understand a lot less than Oneironaut about pretty much anything.
I personally never eat at MacDonalds or drink Coke because the stuff tastes of shit and I just can't consume that kind of thing without considering what's in it and gagging. Commercialism pisses me off but doesn't affect me. There are worse things.

Thanks for the laugh.
It's good to be reminded the world is like it is for a reason.

I have no intention of watching the videos right now, but I just want to say that I can't help but shake my head at this statement. No one is dragging any kids or adults into a fast-food restaurant. Either parents are bringing the junk home or they're letting their kids get away with eating whatever crap they desire. Sure, give kids some freedom in what they want to eat, but know when enough is enough!
For the most part I only eat fast-food if I'm traveling. It's usually out of the way from wherever I'm going and I've had it enough in my life to where I'm just tired of it. People need to educated themselves and/or be educated on what they should be eating. It's common sense and a healthy dose of self-control.
EDIT: And no, I'm not following you around to argue with you. I just wanted to make a point.
-
Amethyst obviously the kids are not physically dragged in by their clothes by Ronald when he sees them on the street. That's actually not what I meant.
The reason you had fast food when your traveling is because it's everywhere. Not because you had a brain. I think you don't understand why it's everywhere. If education was the answer it's failing and it isn't solved yet. So don't pretend it's solved and common sense. It's a willingly blind attitude of selfishness, otherwise you would be required to do something.
-
Fast food is everywhere because people like it and it isn't a crime. If people didn't like it or it was illegal, there would be no fast food.
So...I have no idea what you have against it. Has anyone ever died after consuming a McDonalds hamburger? Aside from accidental reasons just like in any other practice...no.
If there was any proof at all that fast food is dangerous on the same scale as, say, drugs, if people keeled over and/or became addicted to fast food causing health problems and social disbalance...then it would be made illegal.
Unlike some would wish to think: the government and laws exist for a reason. Because the government knows best. It is chosen by the people for the people.
So...fast food doesn't harm people, fast food tastes good (as proven by popularity) and fast food is...fast, comfortable in the modern busy day-to-day life...what's the problem?

Increasing Obesity, heart disease, and diabetes. To name a few things.

As George Washington emphasized. Government is like a fire that is forceful and a terrible master. and a troublesome servant.

Then go live in the wild, in uncharted territory not under the influence of any country, any government.
If you don't like the government, leave.
And I know what I'm talking about. Have you ever seen anyone keeling over in pain after eating a McDonalds hamburger? You still haven't answered that question.
Because instant harm is the only kind that counts. In the modern age everything we consume and breath harms us in some way because the world is far from what it was without industry and what not.
So...like I said, it isn't lethal, it isn't illegal, it's fine. They aren't breaking monopoly laws either, I imagine. Considering the amount of different fast food restaurants.
P.S. Only the close-minded think age counts when it comes to wisdom or knowledge. So, please refrain from calling those you think are less wise, children, just to avoid looking foolish yourself.

Merlock Mcdonalds has funded wars, and done all kinds of things you have no idea about. You must educate yourself before being so opinionated on it. You think in terms of cheeseburgers only. It goes deeper because they influence political affairs, laws and media also. Just from the sheer international globalization of organizations such as this and it's wealth. It directly effects what technology you are allowed in your home as well as other aspects of your life.
If you want to learn something start with Ron Paul.

I don't want to know more because it doesn't concern me.
It doesn't concern you either. Because if it did, if you were part of the "deeper" affairs, then you wouldn't be here discussing it but rather doing something related to it. For or against, who knows.
So, if anything, you sound like the child and in a logical way, not as an irrational insult:
Children have an urge to put their nose everywhere simply out of some primal instinct.
So with this topic, the point you're pushing is "Aww, it's not fair! The major corporations are doing something that doesn't affect me but not telling me about it and doing it without my permission!"
More so, you think you can do something. You can't. You're an ordinary citizen of your country amongst countless others just like all of us. Since it doesn't concern you, since it's beyond your reach, it's pointless discussing it or riling people up about it.
The point being: if you had the power to do anything, you would be doing it. You'd be blowing up McDonalds restaurants with an organised syndicate of criminals, you'd be pushing forward laws that ban these corporations from doing what they do, etc. -- but since you can't, since you aren't in any high position to affect the situation, it doesn't concern you or any of us.
But that's already a bit too much hostility coming from me than I like so to wrap my replies here up: I support Ame's post.
