Does anyone believe in Quantum Theory?

Basically, the Quantum Theory I'm talking about is the theory that there are other universes. Other dimensions or rooms.
If it is true, then they are non-existant inh our universe, but exist in some other form. It is there, infront of you, but you can't get to it and it's not there. It's pretty confusing when you get into the technical part of it though but it's easy enough to know the basics.
Some scientists who study this have took a gun to their head, and shot themselves, thinking that the bullet will degenerate and that they will exist in some other way.
Another example is the cat in the Quantum box. The cat is inside the box. Or is it?

So, what do you all think about this theory? Do you think it's true? If so, it could explain some other things like the big bang or photons.

If you think you understand Quantum Theory, you don't understand Quantum Theory.

I thought that the quantum theory was somehow proven. If you could say so. That it didn't fail any experiments yet or something like that. The Quantum box, is that the Schrödinger's cat experiment? Anyway, we'll be getting quantum computers soon (I hope :P).

Depends whether, you think this universe is infinite. Then no.

And then, if you believe in infinity at all, you would be supporting nothingness, as infinity cannot equal 1. Or even 1+1*.

Then, it couldn't exist at all.
Because, a single universe plus another.. plus a dimension, plus another.. equals something.

Seeing as infinity is the most logical answer of the universe, and also the most illogical, we're assuming a state of being in the pickle jar.

So... i'll show you mine, if you show me yours.

I think that's how it works. Unless you believe in infinity.

Quantum theory in it's basic form is pretty much proven, it has led to the development of the solid state laser LED in your DVD player among other things.

I envourage everyone to begin with the the basics of cavity resonance and proceed from there. Quantum mechanics is not difficult to understand.

Now as for all that far out stuff, it's yet to be proven.

Almost any intro book will get you started. I bet your local public library has some. If not, there are plenty of books on Amazon that range from the most basic to advanced.

I wish I could remember the name of thebook I read, it started with conventional physics, idenditifed the problem with cavity resonance, and detailed the development of quantum theory from there.

One of my favorite books on covering this subject is called "The Elegant Universe". I can't recomend it enough. It's about super strings and such, but it explains everything with such beautifully simple examples, anyone can follow along.

I've probably read it at least 10 time, and I'm due for another read soon.

I think they've updated it since I purchased my copy.

He pretty much covers the basics. Much faster and simplified ofcourse. It's nice to watch, although it's quite long.
