There are testable predictions on Climate Change, but observable temperature differences over a short period of time are not among these.
Most of the concentration of study at the moment seems to be in glacial melt, where models and predictions are testable and falsifiable.
If you're going to read the first few words of this post and argue with me, don't even bother. Skip to the last paragraph if you're too lazy to read the whole thing.
Global warming IS happening. But it's being lied about and blown entirely out of proportion. Information is being left out.
Gore and his scientists are asserting that it's human activity that has "caused" global warming.
Wanna know the truth?
1. Human beings are incapable of doing such a thing because we make use of nothing that could potentially produce harmful greenhouse gases. Huh? Thousands of gallons of CO2 let loose into the atmosphere every day? Well here's something they're not telling you: CO2 is among the most minor of all greenhouse gases. Even in such a massive quantity, it's still doing very little to contribute toward the worldwide rises in temperature. There are many more greenhouse gases that have so much more effect on these temperature changes than CO2. And yet CO2 is getting all the attention. Why could that be? Could it be because that which mass produces CO2 also has a negative effect on the environment? Nah, that can't be...
2. Geologists know for a fact that global temperature changes of this magnitude (and of even greater magnitudes) have happened in the past. As in, millions, billions of years ago, before humans ever existed. They can prove this because they know, just by looking at old layers of rock, what the climate was like in those ancient times. This, therefore, proves that 'global warming' is a natural process that our planet has been going through, is going through, and will always go through. Temperatures will always rise, and then they will always fall. So it doesn't look to me like there's anything human-related about THIS global warming.
So with those two facts in mind, what can we conclude? That our governments are using global warming as a ruse to help the environment? Crazy talk! Rubbish! Balderdash! Poppycock! Then again, there is my next point:
3. If global temperature changes have been happening all throughout the history of Earth, and are therefore a natural process of our planet, what can human beings possibly do to stop it? I mean, if we're too insignificant to cause global warming, what makes us think we're significant enough to do anything about it? We can't. We can't stop this any more than we can stop a hurricane or an earthquake. It will happen no matter how much we clean up our act. It's us versus the planet we live on - something that is so much older than we are. Something so much greater than we are. Who's gonna win?
In short, I guess what I'm trying to say is that Gore is using an act of nature as an excuse to get people to clean up the environment.
Not that cleaning the world up is a bad thing. It really is a good thing. But have people been listening to the environmentalists for the past hundred years when they say "Hey, stop polluting! You're hurting the environment!" No. So what's an environmentalist to do but scare people into listening by saying that Earth will get miserably hot if the environment isn't cleaned up?
So my grandest piece of advice to you all is this. Whether or not you believe my conspiracy-theory-like spiel about Gore's true intentions, at least know that global warming is something that has always happened, and is going to happen no matter what. Rather than trying to "fight" it, we should just do what every other animal on the planet does to counter a change in their environment: adapt.
You ask us to understand that Global Warming is natural and a part of a process that has gone on for millions of years (which I agree to), but you seem unaware that the fight against possible man-made climate change started many years prior to Gore's film, and that he was not the the first to bring this to light.
I'd like to know why Gore always comes up as some kind of demon in these discussions. Whatever the truth is, it would be the same if Gore had never been born.
The other problem I have is with the thinking that if climate change is not 100% man-made, it must be 100% natural. This fails on every logical level.
The truth is that Earth goes through natural cooling and warming phases due to the changing eliptical nature of its orbit. At the moment, we are in the most circular part of this cycle, and thus we should be at the warmest period in a warming trend. This more or less bears out, as we have observed some increase in temperature, and we are a long ways away from an ice-age past or future.
Looking at past temperature trends we can more or less predict where we should be in the cycle. If the cycle has reached more or less the same high each time around, but is much higher this time, then something has changed. This is exactly what scientists are finding. We are getting hotter than we are "supposed" to based on past cycles.
It's also ridiculous to assume we cannot affect climate, as we've demonstrated this ability already. Cities are typically several degrees hotter than outlying areas. This is demonstratably consistent.
But the best example of man's ability to mess with nature is probably the Dust Bowl.
Nature supplied the drought, and we did the rest. I suggest you read up on this if you don't already know about it.Quote:

Global warming is proven to be a political hoax, and if any of you do not believe me you can look it up by your self from non biased purely scientific sources. It is not just one party either, it is not just the democrats, as so many believe, it is every politician looking to make a quick buck.
fact #1. The human race on earth is not significant enough to change any aspect of the environment, permanently, in any way.Earth and nature will erase every minuscule trace we have built when we die and life will go on without us. (as lezen stated wonderfully)
fact #2. Volcanoes alone produce 98% more carbon dioxide and "greenhouse gases" than the entire human population in one pyroclastic cloud from one, single eruption.
fact #3. Politicians have been screaming global warming/cooling for over fifty years, it is no new thing they just discovered. First it was global warming, then cooling, and now we are back to warming, and now the global warming activists have their backs covered if the temperature wishes to descend half a fucking degree with their idiotic fake science.
fact #4. We have only been studying weather for the last hundred years or so and the over all climate for even less. We have not nearly enough data to come to any real conclusion about what the earth is doing on a global scale.
fact #5. Real scientists are discrediting global warming as a political hoax. Why would they do that to your precious little belief system? because it is fake and they don't want to loose their jobs over something they can't back up!
