You're right. you think Oil companies are ever gonna let something like this get mainstream? not when they have profit margins to keep. Both you and I know Tesla was almost killed by JP morgan protecting his interests.

Sad, but true. =/
Hoooooooly shit you guys are gullible. At least I can respect your childlike innocence and cute ignorance of human nature though.
1. ...he didn't show the back. Where there was clearly a motor. :\
2. If you actually visit the vid, you'll soon notice that its whole purpose is to try and sell the 'product' for $8.20.
When you bring two repelling magnets together you have to do work on the magnets. This energy is not lost, it is stored as potential magnetic energy. It can be regained by allowing the magnets to push themselves apart, which is transferring the potential energy to kinetic energy. If you measure the work you do at the beginning which is converted to magnetic PE you find that it is exactly equal to the amount of KE gained from the PE at the end; hence the total energy of the system neither goes up nor down.
Gotta love Google ads. The one I'm seeing right now says "I Got Scammed 27 Times". :)
Adsense can be remarkably intelligent sometimes.
Must you need to slam your mug false sense of superiority into everyone? He didn't show the back yes. how does that prove there was a motor in the back. Plus theres way more videos of magnetic motors, And I've read blogs from guys that have re-produced the experiment. People sell all sorts of knick knacks... what's wrong with selling his? people build engines and motors and sell them. It's called market.
It is to these dummies. :/
Actually I feel my (mug?) sense of superiority to be fairly justified in this issue, considering I'm apparently the only person here who's studied any physics. :|Quote:

If this guy had been genuine he would not have hidden what was behind his magnet thingy. If you can find me a magnet motor video where the magnets are clearly the only thing causing the device to turn, go ahead.
And this isn't a 'knick knack' you plank, if the thing was real then he'd just have broken pretty much the most fundamental law of physics ever and he could potentially become a billionaire. What's wrong with him selling it is that it is a scam (complete misrepresentation of product), and a quick Google confirms this.
The number of instances in history where somebody's sold a 'free energy device' which was actually just a scam using a hidden power source is huge, and this is just one more, although not even a little bit convincing this time.
Hey, I've studied physics! In fact, next term I'm going to take a GR course. My previously stated fascination with the device was not due to my belief in the laws of thermodynamics being shaken by a low quality youtube video; rather I was interested in how he made it so convincing.
I don't understand what you're talking about... naturally I was talking to Ranma, you hadn't posted a new message since before my previous post.
That vid makes me laugh. When I was little I asked a teacher...I forget what subject he was but it was a science subject, why can't you put a few magnets in a circle and some other magnets inside it to make unlimited energy...he said because of cogging. >.<
But I already did that. Quite lucidly.Quote:
why don't you give him a short summary of why the motor isn't what it purports to be?
Indeed, Xei already explained it, lucidly.
But even just saying "newton, bitch" would have sufficed as an explanation as to why that video is so silly.
Hmmm, good point perhaps, I guess newton wasn't really up-to-date on electromagnetism, was he? Still, his 2nd law kind of dictates that you can't make a perpetuum mobile, or win energy (or movement/force) 'from nothing' in any other way, right?
I am not sure. All I know is that as a philisopher, Leibzin was fucking insane. Newton ftw. :)
His second law is that force is proportional to acceleration...
Newton figured out the laws motion; he didn't have much to do with energy.
And can anybody prove that the science we know of is a complete and utter lie? If einstein said drinking petrol was healthy for you, would you do it?
When it comes to physics, the teachers have had to get bachelors degrees to teach high school, and to teach college I'm not certain. You're assertion that they get their information from text books is completely and utterly wrong. The teachers (and their teachers) have had to undergo extensive lab experience. Not only that but what they teach they teach with labs as well. When you are taught physics you observe what you are taught to prove that it is correct.
Did you honestly just say that? I submit that Dreamhope11 is trolling and there is no reason to converse with him further. Still I will explain.
It does not matter who set up the labs...the labs are self evident. A hobo on the street who was speaking gibberish and somehow someone translated into the lab wouldn't make the lab invalid... The lab literally can not lie...unless you are saying someone set up all of the lab equipment in the lab before hand to coincide with a conspiracy to spread lies...
Secondly, even if there were no labs, we use it in everyday life...life in general is a gigantic lab. If you want proof of half of the laws you're saying are meaningless actually are not meaningless then I suggest you think about your car and how it exemplifies many of the laws you are doubting.
Now, I'm going to go swim for a while.
