Do you think intelligent life ever existed on mars?

I just posted a thread about ice found under the martian soil and it sparked me to make this thread.
Firstly, when i use the word "Intelligent life" I don't assume life which has technology to fly through space in seconds, or even have the ability to get into space.

I have looked on the Net and saw some pictures of what some beleive to be artificial buildings, here are a few i found.

In February, Formisano presented data at the Mars Express Science Conference at Noordwijk in the Netherlands. If scientists had been quietly excited before seeing Formisano's data, they were frenetic afterward.

Formisano showed evidence of the presence of formaldehyde in the atmosphere. Formaldehyde is a breakdown product of methane, which was already known to be present in the Martian atmosphere, so in itself its presence is not so surprising. But Formisano measured formaldehyde at 130 parts per billion.

To astrobiologists it was an incredible claim. It means huge amounts of methane must be produced on Mars. (While methane lasts for hundreds of years in the atmosphere, formaldehyde lasts for only 7.5 hours.) "It requires that 2.5 million tons of methane are produced a year," said Formisano.

"There are three possible scenarios to explain the quantities: chemistry at the surface, caused by solar radiation; chemistry deep in the planet, caused by geothermal or hydrothermal activity; or life," he added.

And, with no known geological source of formaldehyde on Mars, it's clear where Formisano's suspicions lie.

"I believe there is extremely high probability that microbial subsurface life exists on Mars," he said, while acknowledging that although he believes in Martian life, he can't yet prove it.

Some also beleive that there are pyramids on mars..

Is it a mere coincidence that ancient traces of water was found near this what some beleive to be a ancient city?

If these where actually pyramids and when a manned team finnally land on mars and look at these more closely, what if they are infact ruins?

This would lead to many questions, such as why are there pyramids on Earth and Mars? This could not possibly be coincedence.
Now from my point of view if ruins where found i would think that the egyption religion was given to them from the life from mars, now im not claiming to say that if there was once life on mars that they were gods..
They did not create life in the universe, they might be simple spreaders of there religion.
When humanity ventures into space and finds life on other planets, would we not try to implent our religions into there society.
Just like Christian Missionaries did?

I always thought this.... just a crazy theory.

We humans lived on mars till we totally fucked up that planet and landed on earth to start our destruction of another world.

But we were all brainwashed to forget that we lived on Mars and now we roam the Earth looking for bodies to inhabit, like Tom Cruise.

No thanks. Wasn't their something about body pods in volcanoes?

I think the universe is old enough and if their was water on mars that life could have been sustained their at one point. Could have gotten society their to a point where we can fly in space..then global warming fucked the planet up... Then they sent Adam and Eve in a rocket ship over Earth... hmmmmmmmm

Now I'm just having fun mixing stories.

I can't tell if you're being serious. You realize there's a rich fossil record on Earth delineating the evolution from bacteria to humans, right?
