I'm just curious what you think
mwhahhaha! I got the first vote, that means I win!
I don't see the point in holding a negative view of the future. You can accomplish nothing but nothingness with that sort of mentality. You can't even fight a war if you believe there is no tomorrow. Anyone who has ever propelled mankind forward dreamed of a future.
So why dream of a bad one?
Okay so if I give that we're drawing the futures we create, and I draw a spiritual revolution to myself which helps permeate it's arrival to the collective, it stills helps to see how many people are doing the same rather than giving into fear and chaos. This isn't necessarily what you believe will happen, but which direction you think we're headed currently, if things continue on the course their set.
For me it's hard to tell, it seems like most people spend their time building walls around their carefully created concepts and hiding from open ended questions on the future and the nature of life. It seems as though, for the sake of their security, of holding onto what they have right now, they ignore vital questions that are posed against us all of the time.
But honestly more and more people wake up all the time, and the number's growing of people that see life as something mysterious and truth as an ongoing process rather tahn something set in stone. And the people that think they have the world figured out and attack anyone that thinks differently is shrinking. As I look at progress in the world and in the news in terms of events that have transpired and actions completed, it disgusts me how bad things are and are becoming. But if I look at the perspectives people have now, and the number of people eganging in a new perspective and a new paradigm, it's astounding. Just in the last 5 years, millions of people have opened up to new possible lifestyles and new ways to harmonize technology and nature, justice and freedom, and things like that.
Dude, the future is what you make it. Don't just sit around and passively contemplate.
Make it happen.
What are you doing for the future?
Dude!
...
Why are you offended over a poll?
well what do you think is going to happen?
No dramatic reformation. People will become more atheist, though.
Environmental hazards will kill the coelacanth, and this will spur new legislation aimed at easing the dead zones in the ocean. But we won't care under the giant panda is only in captivity.
We'll hit carrying capacity and cope with it, since we began working on it today. We will have lost many species, and all old growth forests, but we will finally be sustainable.
That is no endpoint. I think at that point, we'll go to space, start terraforming mars for real.
In 2012, the world will get blasted by altered sun rays mixed in with energy from the black hole in out galaxy's center ultimately hitting the barrier-weak earth and killing off the homo-sapien species. A new breed of humans will arise and they will be stronger, have psychic abilities and be extremely smarter than us. Babies will be born with BASE IQ's at stephen hawking's level. 26,000 years ago, the neanderthals vanished and cro-magnon man sprang up. The next 26,000 year cycle ends in 2012 and therefore we are set to evolve again as a race...but not before mass extinction.
The above is what David Wilcock believes.
We are on the very edge of the space age and are going to live on at least until the nature of the matter in the universe makes it impossible, but we will probably learn how to tap into other universes/dimensions by then. Eventually, Earth will be something long gone and will live on in history as the planet where humans originated and lived for a very long time. I think the future "humans" will be watching videos of World War II and The Beatles billions of years from now.
I wish I had your optimism. It would be awesome though.

Billions of years from now the earth will be very, very hot. But we may have developed systems that make us survive the heat that far into the future.
Anyway, I think Dr. Michio explain what could be the future of humanity in this video: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=6ftF8sXzoWk very intresting.
This is a biased survey that leaves out important transcendental options (similar to your number 1) that are purely technological in nature. See; Technological Singularity.
Your face is biased.
Hmmmmm.... I don't rightly know where I stand on this. I would say the whole we'll cause our own demise thing, but then I got to environmental things, and I decided not to pick that as I don't believe in man-made global warming... I could pick the first one, as thats whats (REALLY) supposed to happen on December 12 2012: We are supposed to have a shift in conciousness into another demension. (NOT the end of the world) I don't really think that we are going to be enslaved by some "secret" society, as we already have, Its called: Society. And I also agree with the last one..... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......
Secret organization. *cough oil conglomeration*
Your mom is biased
HOW CAN IT BE?
We're going to turn into a Jupiter Brain, floating around a Dyson sphere. Appearantly the future is knee-deep in balls, and so will you be.
nice to see some moderation here for once.
We will kill eachother off, or the earth will do it for us.
Great, then once they become smart enough they can see we are a threat to them, and will destroy humans. But man, it would be SO COOL to have machines get smarter on their own.....not only that, they will most likely be earth friendly, and recycle knowing of the dangers of pollution, and they grow and are on the same page, so the Earth lives, and no more wars, ever! the Earth is the way it should be...at peace. The things living on it would be what it should be...technological, and the animals will all be talking so they can understand them, from the enhancements they got on that go by the animals frequency, to theirs.
I vote for the enslavement thing.
Oh god, i wish i was living in a civ 3 type! although the reason why we have not seena type 3 or any type, a type 3 would no doubt be able to hide themselves from ever being seen. I liked his theory of the trillions of robots on the moons around the galaxy searching in their factory for type 1, 2, and 3 civs.
But seriously....what is after the internet? i can't grasp a thought of something taking over the internet.....
This is something I also consider as a possibility.Quote:

Just look at the big picture and it seems quite clear.
Unless we really do simultaneously exist in subtle and mental dimensions, in which case the evolution of consciousness would take place at the same time and I still winz.
"Mankind is something to be surpassed." … but I really don't see that happening in the near future. At the moment mankind is battling so many problems in the world. It's hard to imagine a world without them.
I think the moment we really become a more advanced species is when we've perfected raising children. Imagine a world in which all children are raised perfectly to be intelligent, sensible, peaceful and just but all with their own unique personality. Then we would really become a greater society.
