Apocalyptic Visions?

A friend of mine that has anxiety attacks came in from taking out the trash when we were hanging around getting drunk the other night, out of breath and clearly deeply disturbed. He immediately took a xanax, and I asked him what was wrong. He described a recurring apocalyptic vision that gets stronger every time. This reminded me of an incident a few months before, like 6 or 7 months, and another friend of mine. Apparently, whenever he took a huff of computer duster, he would have visions of the world ending. So without telling him my other friend had recurring apocalyptic visions, I asked my friend to describe what he saw. One instance, he said he saw the universe unfold in a beautiful, harmonious way. But the rest of the apocalyptic visions he described were almost exactly the same as the ones my other friend were having. What makes this weird is how opposite their two personalities are.

So, before describing the aforementioned apocalyptic visions and their similarities, do any of you envision the end of the world? If so, what do you see? I'd be even more freaked out if this was more universal than two of my stoner friends.

I had a dream about it before, but it was clearly just a dream since I drowned then was struck by lightning a bunch of time and I still survived.

Are the similarities specific similarities or vague similarities? There is a difference between the two. For example, it was raining in both dreams. That is pretty vague, and also fairly common. I wouldn't say it means anything. Now if they both said it was raining and the wind was so strong the rain felt like it was falling side ways, thats pretty specific.

If they said a meteor fell from the sky, again thats pretty vague. There are thousands of way a meteor could fall from the sky. Was it just one? Did it break apart and strike a bunch of locations? Was it the side of a truck, or a city? Its just to vague. Now if they said dozens meteors streaked through the sky and turned the sky orange before the planet lit up in flames, that is very specific.

Was there a flood? Flood in an urban area? In a city, out in the country? Was it slow, or did a tidal wave 50 feet tall crash over everything.

And of course, make sure the way they describe it wasn't the plot of some movie or book they both saw. Also they have a lot of fun tv shows about the end of the world.

It wasn't just the similarities of the two dreams, but also how they both described it back to me.

I would like to know the visions. I have a friend that's extremely sensitive to precognition and she has a strong sense for August 2010.

Well basically both of them saw a city on fire, a sky of a blood red and all the faces of their friends and families burning, and all their voices screaming. One said it sounded like the entire world was screaming, actually.

No offense, but the fact that one of your friends had the vision while huffing computer duster makes me disregard anything he saw.

It wasn't on one occasion he got this "air duster vision," it was every time he did it. The same vision got clearer and stronger each time he did air duster, even if they were weeks apart. Always thought that was odd...

Again no offense, but recurring hallucinations while huffing cans of compressed air most likely don't mean a thing. If he had had them sober that would be one thing. He instead had them while his brain was dying because it wasn't getting any oxygen.

Listen negative Nancy, the main point wasn't the air duster, it was the fact that two separate people described the exact same vision to me at completely different levels of consciousness. How they came to these visions is irrelevant, because they still described the exact same thing on different occasions without consulting each other. Obviously I don't actually believe this is a real DEPICTION OF THE END TIMES, but I found it extremely interesting two opposite people would describe pretty much the same twisted vision. So yes, I understand YOUR point of view, but again no need to go around telling little kids Santa is false when they are just faking believing in him to get free presents.

Well many people get so called visions. Dreams and visions should never be interpreted as literal. It's all symbolic for something. Don't take that too seriously.

Which is perhaps why I said this in the post right above you?

Discounting all experiences that occur under chemical influence is no less naive than expecting drugs to give you spiritual insight.

Except sometimes they are literal, you just need to realize the difference between your mind telling you something and something else.

Except sometimes? like when? When have apocalyptic visions been ever literal? People have been having them for centuries and setting dates. It hasn't happened yet.

Didn't say apocalyptic visions are literal. Was speaking of visions in general.

I'm not saying that visions don't happen and that they don't predict certain events. But the process is never literal.

for example. I heard of a guy who was applying to work for a big company. He was in the washroom in the building trying to do some last minute self grooming before the interview. Just then he had a vision of his face being all bloody and then, a monster like goddzilla smashed the building he was in to bits. When he awoke from the vision he fled the building... Even though nothing happened.

A few days later that company he was applying for went bust. It was done for financially.

THERFORE his vision wasn't LITERAL. everything was symbolic. His bloody face represented the anguish he would feel for getting a job and then losing it right away. The monster smashing the building was symbolic for the company going broke.

Understood, but their are also instances of visions being literal. Having had one myself.
