I doubt North Korea could make good on their threat. I'm sure their allies don't support them in this matter. If they even singe a hair on America's head they are toast. I get the feeling Jong Il lost his penis when he was 5, therefore he vents his frustrations by trying to be a dictator. But so far his bark is worse than his bite.
To be honest, why does any country with nukes think they have the authority to tell other countries that nukes are bad and not allowed? It all seems very hypocritical to me.

No I'm not going to make that comparison. But I will say that if you look back on history, the closest we have ever come to a nuclear doomsday was because of the USA, and the USSR. Not religious extremists or dictatorships.
And of course we have the fact that the only country to have ever used nukes is the USA (although I won't deny that circumstances were very different in 1945 and it probably saved quite a few lives).
True. Ideally we could have substantial defenses against nukes which would make the process of disarming much easier. Obviously because their potency as a weapon would be diminished. I don't see it happening any other way. We keep nukes because any other country with a small military and a large number of nukes could put us under their thumb.Quote:
