Where does it say that every human being needs a mate? Even if by some odd
turn of fate there were an equal amount of males to females, there would still
be plenty of single people, either due to lack of interest, other priorities, or
incompatibility.

Well my response has already been covered by several people, so.... yaaaaay banana!

But anyhoo, yeah, that's silly. And even in theory, it wouldn't diminish the population anyway. Just one male can impregnate a LOT of women.

There's, what, 1-3% of the population that is gay? I think the other 97-99% will cope just fine...plus, more chicks for me!

Perhaps this will cause women to become more desperate, and seek out men they would not normally go for (nerds, dweebs, etc.). This would in turn lead to more smart people passing on their genes, and a more intelligent society. Just a theory, probably full of holes, but it would be nice if it happened.

Also, I'm all for decrease of the population. There are too many people in this world, and it shows.
