wait,... you can't buy alcohol on sundays? lol
The same goes for zoning laws that don't allow strip clubs to exist anywhere but parts of town most people wouldn't dare go to at night. It's clearly religiously driven.
It depends on the county. In my county, they just recently lifted the ban on buying beer on Sundays and on restaurants having liquor licenses. However, liquor stores are not allowed at all. In the surrounding counties, liquor stores are not allowed to be open on Sundays.
Um, doesn't the 22nd Amendment kind of defeat the 18th Amendment on prohibiting the sale of alcohaul?

There are some good ones in there...
Being an Alaskan native (as in I was born there), those are some damn good laws :PQuote:
Alaska
* In Fairbanks, it is illigal to feed alcoholic beverages to a moose.
* While it is legal to shoot bears, waking sleeping bear for the purpose of taking a photograph is prohibited.
This thread reminded me of a lunatic post somebody left on my YouTube page. It was left by a character named amaqula. You should check out that nut's page. It's a real trip.
Well that's a nice way to secular people stay in power forever - and have their secular agenda implemented - ie saying governments should only be secular! I disagree - it is prejudiced against non secular people! Better secular people have secular governments and Catholic people have Catholic governments! I know which one will fare better! it's time for a split!
Bring back the CATHOLIC STATE - foundational state of the west - and resist your demographic wipeout and Islamisation at the hands of idiot secular governance!!
The government is just doing what's best for you. They know that you really ought to smoke weed on sundays(WWJD?)
In Norway stores bigger than kiosks may not be open on Sundays at all. Also, alcohol may not be sold after 20:00 on any day, or 14:00 on a holy day. Alcoholic beverages containing more than 5 volume %, I think, of alcohol may only be sold in special outlets.
You're not the only ones with stupid laws :)
Some reforms and workarounds are finally coming into play in Pennsylvania, but up until now wine and liquor can only be purchased at state liquor stores which must be closed by 6pm Mon-Sat and all day Sunday. Beer can only be acquired at beer distributors, generally a hangar-like drive-thru affair(not sure if they can open Sundays, but must close by 9pm the rest of the time). The exception is bars, which often have a line of coolers stocked with six-packs like you'd see in a grocery store in other states, at more or less normal carry-out prices.
Enforcement of all these laws is getting lax in a lot of communities, resulting in oddball work-arounds like being able to buy beer at the grocery store but having to ring it up on the other side of the store, separate from your groceries, or likewise setting up a small "beer distributor" adjacent to your convenience store.
It's the most convoluted set of blue laws I've seen in any state, and the only result I see is that people are more likely to buy and stockpile in quantity :P
...
well, at least people can stay sober one day of the week. :D
Unfortunately, that's about to change.
that alcohol law isn't everywhere in the states. i've been plastered too many Sundays to know the difference. I'm assuming it's up to the state to decide what they want to do.
Well its local law, not federal law. People are allowed to make up laws in their own cities. It is probably to much trouble to really fight it, when its so easy to get around, and if you dislike you can simply move.
Where I live you are allowed to drink 24 hours a day, every day of the year. You are also allowed to gamble, and prostituion is legal in the next county over.
Yes, I do live there. You can get guns easily here too. I live in a pretty nice area, despite having easy access to guns, booze and gambling, with prositution in the next county. They have a ton of churches all over the place too. Just goes to show you, that most of the laws are unneeded.
OOOOH SNAP SON fck no caps
People should be allowed to drink whenever the hell they want! I see it as a basic human right. (That is, as long as they're not driving/working/doing something where their inebriation could harm others)
Church used give wine to me un sunday
I thought "This shit tastes good, and my grandma has a fuckload of it"
this started drinking for me.
silly church, making people alcoholic
What kind of ratard misspells "illegal" 200+ times?
