First, read this. I saw the video on the news last night but can't find it on youtube. Yearly treatment figures were (on the news) estimated to be around 100,000 USD per year, not the 50 - 75 they say.
Now, watch this..
Sad.

This is one example, why laissez faire is madness. Reason and logic need to be applied as well.
It sounds like its time for one of the supposed philanthropists of the world to step up to the plate. Bill Gates could fund this by skipping breakfast. Too bad the FDA would resist it until its last breath.
I am pretty sure they would still make a profit from it. Since they would be the first one selling it, people are going to buy it from them before anyone else. Even if other companies copy them, they probably wont be able to produce it on the spot.
So for the first four months or so you blitz the market with a cure for cancer, and pull in the money quickly. If it actually cured the three types of cancer they would profit.
Also, if they found the chemical didn't work but that chemical mixed with another did, then the laws would protect them.
The issue is that it would take 100 million dollars to get it through the testing and approval. If anyone shells out that money, then immediately afterward, anyone can profit from their investment, and they will likely never recoup the cost.
It would take someone who just wants to cure cancer and doesn't care about making money or even making their money back who also has 100 million dollars to spare. People who have that kind of money don't tend to give fuck all about their fellow man, and probably isn't too worried about curing cancer.
sad indeed
Lets hope for a billionaire to get diagnosed with one of those cancers.
The cure for cancer... THE cancer that's been number 1 on the list of things to cure (right next to HIV) and no one wants to fund it?
Epic. Joke.
What this Canadian research team should do is spill the name of the drug and the way in which it issynthesized. There are plenty of people with the knowhow and equipment to make more of it, and they'd distribute it from there. Scratch that: The drug can't be patented, which means it isn't artificially created. The same is true for THC, which is why the pharmaceutical industry lobbied to make it illegal altogether. Couldn't make them money. And now there's a drug that might cure one of the biggest medical problems human beings currently face, a problem that nets these companies large sums of money every year, and due to the fact it'll make them no money means they wont only not fund it, but likely lobby to make this one illegal as well if it ends up losing them money.
Epic joke x2.
gg america
It shouldn't cost that much to test it.
The vid said $100 million...
What is a normal person suppose to do in this situation...=/
This is some bullshit. There are kids dying from cancer. But no one wants to fund it. A Billionaire's little piggy bank could defiantly get the testing going.
Proper clinical trials take place all the time. Why not for this drug? Because it'll net the pharmaceutical companies nothing financially. They are profit driven. Furthermore if they can prevent a natural cure from becoming public, they'll maintain a good deal of their income from cancer patient treatment. It benefits them not just by refraining from funding it, but by preventing it from becoming accessible to the public altogether.
I'm pretty sure that if this medicine is promising enough, it'll get enough funding from the government and other universities. It'd be great publicity for both the universities involved and Canada if they were to discover a cure for cancer. The guy sounded pretty optimistic in both videos.
wow, that second video glen beck was still on cnn. Havnt heard anything about this until now. Guess the tests still havnt gone through huh?
The secret is that nobody wants to have a cure for cancer: they want a treatment. They can't make as much money off of cancer patients that way.
A one-time, fixed-forever patient may pay half a million dollars up front, but a slowly dying patient that pays $10,000 twice a month for chemo and radiation will pay the same after a little more than two years and would continue to do so until death. In the meantime, they're also on antiemetics, antidepressants, and painkillers that may cost several hundred dollars a day to mask the fatal side effects of the "treatment," and then drugs to manage the side effects of those drugs, and so on. (As a side note, the same could be done by cannabis for ~$30-50 a day.)
What needs to happen is a punch to the face of the pharmaceutical industry.
It's official: money is more important then life.
:(
I expect nothing less
I have no doubt that those in power care only for how much overhead they make from thecattlecitizens of this country. Their not going to fund this, it makes no sense for them to. They don't care about your children, parents, siblings, grandparents, or friends. They don't care about YOU. They couldn't care less if you contracted every disease known to man and this would give you one more day by eliminating one of them.... Those who can fund it will not because they only care about the profit to be made, and there is none here, non in a monetary sense... but there is in a human sense...
So it's left in the common man's hands to see this through, or to see it fall under the foot of the corporations and pharmaceutical companies feet and be crushed.
Eh what?
As far as I can tell the drug is well known. As the video says you can get it from chemical companies. Not being able to patent something doesn't mean it's not artificial, virtually all drugs are refined in some way; the thing is that patents only last a short time, and after that any drug company can sell a derivative of it.
Of course drug companies won't fund something that severely damages their business. Why should they fund it? Because they have money? Lots of people and organisations have money.
It should be funded by governments, charities, and so on. Which it is.
Greed is the worst attribute one can find in a man.
DCA... they didn't hide it.
