Nice.. As I say anytime someone mentions DMT... don't fuck with it unless you're an experienced psychonaut. Potentially dangerous(mentally) stuff, DMT is. Beautiful, but dangerous.
If a person is taking anti-anxiety meds would it be safe to experiment with this stuff?
I found it incredibly interesting that Mimosa is a relative and can be used in a similar manner.
It's one of the most powerful hallucinogens known to man... it's not really something you experiment with.

Depends on the med, really. I found a website a while back that details a lot of neurally active pharmaceuticals and how each recreational drug mixes with it, but for the life of me I can't seem to find it again. I'm on a very small dose of Zoloft myself and have since done weed and LSD a few times, to no ill effects. I think they just have slightly less effect. However even on a small dose having 3 beers will get me like hammered drunk now! :drink:Quote:

And yeah Zhaylin it would be safe. It would probably take away any chance of having a bad trip. I can really only see positives from using the two. They don't react in any bad way though if that's what you're asking.
Oh and I'm assuming the med is Xanax or Valium. If it's anti-depressants, ignore the previous sentence and tell us what type it is. MAOI or SSRI?

I've convinced a guy at my work to try DMT with me one day. :D I know what i am getting into, so i'll be able to help him. Small dose because it has potentially a chance to fuck up your life for the rest of your life.

Ouch. That was a great catch! I actually already knew that, but completely forgot because my pdoc prescribes it to me off-label.
I take it so infrequently because I can't afford the blasted things ($80. a month AFTER insurance *sigh*).
How long does a med have to be out of your system before trying DMT? I want to cold brew (?) it as a tea.
You might not want to mess around with DMT if you are already in a fragile state of mind.
I'm interested in it as an aide toward a spiritual journey.
For me, this is mostly just a ??? unobtainable interest. I don't have a safe party to try it with and that would sort of defeat the purpose I want to use it for anyhow. I want to go off into the forest, in a safe location, by myself and use it while meditating.
That's not realistic at this point in time though :( I know nothing about dosing ect especially with raw material and I would want the effects to be extremely mild. There seems to be so many sub-?-species of Mimosa that I don't even know if the ones that grow in West Virginia would even work; or if I'd have a placebo effect only (which isn't entirely a bad thing IMO) or if it would be more dangerous.
There's just too much I simply don't know.

Well if you wanted to get mild effects, it would be better to smoke it. Because then you won't go way too overboard because the come up is quick. You'd have to extract it etc. and read up dosing guides. Which I will have to direct you to erowid.org and search for DMT there. You could probably order some seeds online or something. But as I said I wouldn't just "pick some of this up". It is an endangered plant. Grow your own.
