Egh... This New Diet is Killer

      It's more a lifestyle change.

No sugars of any kind- that means carbs, too. The diet is high in fat. High in fiber. Moderately high in Cholesterol. Moderate in protein/iron. And very low in sugars. Breads are no more as are most fruits. (berries are fine.)

It is killer. I just started a couple days ago and since my body, like most bodies, is a sugar burner it is practically like I haven't eaten in two days. It is supposed to feel like this for the first four-five days.

I crave sugar so much. Eyack. Anyway, just thought I'd gripe a bit. Anyone else on a similar diet?

Do you exercise? Honestly, I'd start exercising, add back your sugars (your body needs those), regulate your carbs, and cut back on the fats and choleserol

but I've heard of some people dieting with bacon, so I guess w/e works... :\

Yeah, I like to exercise, but I should be light on the exercise until my body transfers over to becoming a fat burner.

You know, everything that your body really uses for energy is either sugar, fat, or protein. Your body can operate on any of the three. (Protein is bad if used as the main one.) Most people use sugar as their primary energy source but I would prefer to train my body to use fat. And as long as your insulin levels and such are fine, cholesterol isn't too bad. I will add some sugar/carbs back into the diet after a month. But it takes a while of restricting almost all of them to convert your body into a fat burner. So until I transfer over, it is going to suck. Haha. Thanks for the concern though, and this radical stage is only that- a stage.

Ah ok. That makes sense. I was really going off what I've heard people say because people go about diets wrong often, but sounds like you have a plan

I don't think I understand. You say no sugars of any kind, yet berries--which are basically sugar, fiber, and water--are fine? And why are no breads allowed? Please provide more details, because right now it makes no sense to me whatsoever.

What is the goal of this diet, if I may ask?

I thought I replied to his. Hmm. Anyway, berries are only okay in moderation and only certain types of berries. And carbs in general are disallowed, at least for the first few weeks, (after which they are still limited, because they are all converted to sugar.)

Yeah, the point is to make your bodies primary fuel be fats and make sugar teh secondary fuel. For most people it is the other way around. I had the opportunity to have a conversation with someone named Dr. Rosedale, (not one on one,) and he made a lot of sense. I have also known enough people to go on this diet and seem to be much healthier that I figured I would try it out.

If, after about four months or so I am not feeling better and healthier than I won't continue it. I am just trying it out. Besides, the rest of my family is doing it so I figure I will experiment with it along with them.
