      Mrsa

I find myself in quite the pickle.
My oldest daughter (14) has been staying with friends for most of the summer, helping the mom with her 3 kids.
Last week, the youngest of the 3 (about 5 years old) was hospitalized for complications from a spider bite and it was discovered he has MRSA.
The father of the bunch is living there (the couple divorced but are still friends). He had a nasty boil which he lanced about 3 days ago. Yesterday he went to the doctor because of fever and pain and he has MRSA as well.

I just googled it and it sounds like it's nasty and highly contagious. My first instinct is to bring my daughter home ASAP.
BUT, my son was in an accident last week. He was dragged by a car about 3 feet (idle speed) and has road burn and open sores over half his back, butt; a bit on his belly and a wound on his foot.
My daughter shares cigarettes with the father. If she already has MRSA (as a carrier, as she isn't sick), having her around my oldest son could be very dangerous.

Should I set it up for a blood (?) test to see if she has it before bringing her home? Or isolate the two of them from each other?

      Suggestions?

Yeah get her tested asap. Is there somewhere else your son could stay in the mean time?

My friend got MRSA because we were walking through a sewage tunnel and he slipped and stepped in the actual sewage, which spashed onto his leg. When he was at the doctor, they had to drain it or some shit, and had had this big gaping hole in his leg from it. He said it was the worst pain in his life.

      But yeah, separate your kids.

My boyfriend has MRSA. I have only had one incidence of this which was on my leg. It healed pretty quickly and I haven't an outbreak since that time. This topic peaks my curiosity... here I come Google!

Wow.. I forgot all about this thread.
      Sorry about that.

Everything turned out okay for us. My daughter was tested and was free of MRSA. My oldest son recovered from his accident and everyone's home and getting on each others nerves

I hope your boyfriend heals quickly, Moody.
