Silver Nitrate
I absolutely LOVE that stuff. My hubby keeps some handy for canker sores, so I got a bunch of sticks from him for a mouth sore (teeth grinding) but I quickly started using it for other things.
I had a small cyst under the skin of my chin. I always deviled it, so it was always sore. One day, it started erupting from under the skin so I burned the top layer away. Then I had the bright idea to press harder and get the rest of it. Amazingly, it worked wonderfully.
Then I used them on skin tags, and most recently, on an almost entirely flat mole I've had on my knee for as long as I recall.
I go through weird phases where my skin "crawls" and I "scratch" the skin off (it's actually more like friction because I keep my nails extremely short and I use the flat of my nails, rubbing them across the itchy spot.
As soon as I start, I burn the spot and that takes care of that.
The sticks are also great for insect bites.
BUT- how often is too much? Silver Nitrate is a poison. I've googled "overdose" but can't find any info about the sticks, just the pills (which will turn you permanently blue if you use too much )
Another thing: I have an extremely high pain tolerance, but my hubby finds it very odd that I feel almost nothing when using the sticks. For me, it feels *a little* like putting salt on a wound. The sting is extremely slight. I'm giving myself chemical burns though and I find it interesting that it doesn't hurt.
My youngest daughter tapped one on her arm and she claims she felt an unpleasant tingle immediately. I think it's just in her head.
Does anyone have any experience with these?

Yeah, lol, hubby said it shouldn't be used more than a couple times a month. I tend to use it a few times a week.
I can't find anything, though, that lists a standard.

Naah, it being poisonous is just a myth. I snort it all the time. Makes the voices go away.

Just a slight revision of one of my earlier statements :D
One of the dogs jumped on me and gave my leg a real good scratch. It was bleeding and I had run out of bandaides, so I used the Silver Nitrate to cauterize the wound.
I felt pain then  It wasn't unbearable, but boy it burned. It did the job very well though.
