What's wrong with my dad?

It's been 8 days.

First 3 days he was coughing NON STOP all day long, could not sleep well and told him to go to the doctors, but he waited 3 more days before doing it. He also had a cold. He is 1 month away till 56 years old and he's a BIG guy (5'10 and a half and like 386 lbls) and always yells at any and everything. Anyway 3 more days goes by and tell him to go to doctor because he still could not stop coughing and not sleeping much. He went to the doctors and she was very worried about his heart. She gave him pills to eat twice a day with food and he's not coughing nearly as much but when he comes upstairs he coughs all the time normally. Since he's been coughing for now 8 days he's lost his voice. Doctor will give us results in 2 weeks.

In the mean time....what are some things it could be? he's always had his flu shot but now he's retired and sits at home all day every day and didn't get his flu shot this year. I'm just guessing here but perhaps a respitory problem due to all that coughing?

Does he smoke?

Nope, he eats out a lot and eats all kinds of bad food. No smokes, once or twice a year he drinks, no drugs except the odd time pain killers or asprin.

So nobody has any idea? he was wheezing in the theatre and almost could not breathe.

I think you need a new doctor. He is having breathing problems, and they told him to wait 2 weeks for a test?

Maybe its the bad food. or it could be stress. Stress causes just about anything anywhere.

Yeah coz a different doctor would be able to make the lab run the tests quicker.... pfft.
They have more high priority patients than ones with breathing problems you know.

I would guess his weight is to blame. As well as probably high cholesterol.

Just guessing though.
