I seem to have gotten some frostbite on my right ear. It's red and swollen to about twice normal size (yes it looks gross). I can still feel it and feel pain in it. The skin feels normal, maybe a little dry. My other ear is fine. |

It's not frostbite if you have any feeling in it and it's not black. derp |

There are different degrees of frostbite... |
|
That doesn't look so bad. |
|
Could be an infection. Looks like one anyway. |

I think it's a chillblain, in which case there isn't much you can do except keep your ear warm. Wash it with warm water then moisturize it and maybe have an antihistamine to relieve the pain or itching. If it persists then go see a doctor. |

Reality Check
Spoiler for lucid dream goals:
Yeah, go see a doctor if the random person on the internet is not correct. |
|
How about don't listen to any random people on the internet. |

I was hoping to catch somebody who's experienced something similar before. Anyways, I'm reasonably confident that it's not going to fall off at this point, which was my main concern. |
|
I have experienced a similar thing before. Is it hot as well? |
|
It's definitely frostbite. I was working outside in -20˚ on a windy day. |

Looks like a mosquito bite to me. |

You should cut it off before the infection spreads to your brain and causes you to go into a coma and die. A doctor would say the exact same thing and charge $500 so you're welcome. |

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.
Healthcare is free, yo. |

Sorry, your tax payers would have been charged $500. Did I appease you? |

I'd feel better if you massaged my ear, it's still a little sore. |

You're asking the mods to do their job? Lol |

I've almost gotten frostbite on my fingers before, they were entirely numb (as in no feeling, not blunted feeling) and turning purple. Right before where they connect to my hands was the most intense pins-and-needles I've ever experienced, and I couldn't even bend my fingers. The fact that your ear is red and swollen means it's got inflammation, which means more blood-flow is making it to your ear. If you've already seen a doctor about it, I'm not an expert, so I could be wrong; however, from what I've read, heard, and experienced, if it were frostbite you'd have no feeling and it would be a dark purple or black (basically what Irken said). |
