      Light headed?

      Hey,

(Sorry for the vagueness and the fact that this thread doesn't make sense, I can't think properly at the moment)
When I yawn and stretch, I go really light headed for a brief moment that I can willingly extend by continuing stretching. It doesn't always happen when I do those at the same time but it can happen just randomly, usually after I have been sitting down for a while but not always. I realised recently that the feeling is quite similar to how it was passing out from not enough oxygen going to the brain and I think that this is exactly what is happening.

I assume that there are side effects such as brain cells dying and I don't particularily want that so, anyway to stop it? I think that learning to automatically breathe deeply as in meditation could stop it (and it helps anyway). Thoughts?

It might not be a breathing issue but a blood pressure issue. It is fairly common for people to get light headed if they sit up to quickly and stuff. Its probably either lack of blood or air getting to your brain. Though it could also be low blood sugar, if you hadn't eaten for a long time or just naturally have low levels.

If it happens often I would go to the doctors and get a physical. Any of the three could cause light headedness, though none of them are very serious and easily fixed.

Ah yeah, I think it could be low blood sugar as I have previously thought that I did have it but my dad did not think I did. I will talk about it with a doctor tomorrow as I have to go anyway. Thanks for the help in pointing out what the problem could be
