Vibrating, But it Isn't?

Whenever I excessively use my cell phone, I text a lot. Now, I always have my phone on vibrate because the noise is so annoying! So yesterday, I was texting away (yesterday wasn't the first time this happened), and I would feel the vibration of my phone. When I would take it out to check the message, there wouldn't be one. The same thing happened again, I thought I felt a vibration, but there wasn't any message. Is there something wrong with me?

Happens to me too, I know a large phone carrier (AT&T or Verizon) makes fun of it in one of their commercials.
