      They itch. Bad.

So there's a spider somewhere in my bedroom that's been biting the shit outta me while I've been sleeping. Got a bite on each arm...and I think there might be one on my pinky, one on my ankle, and another on one of my toes. Bottom line, all these areas itch like motherfuckers, and it's getting old pretty fast. I figured taking a few hot showers might help, but...no, not really.

FYI, last night I think I found the spider that's been biting me: just a harmless tree spider, whitish in color. It was resting on my blinds, so when I tried to nab the little bastard, it fell behind my bed. Guess I get to look forward to being bitten some more.

So, anyone know good itch remedies that'll work on these mild spider bites? Ointments and what have you...

And no, Google is not my friend this time. In fact, according to Google, plain, white-colored (adult) spiders don't even exist...interesting.

My huby attracts spiders and is frequently bitten. He uses regular old Hydrocortisone (sp) cream then bandaids it to keep himself from scratching it.
I hope you find your culprit soon.

Yeah, I agree. I don't think a spider would bite unless it was provoked, especially not that many times.
If you've been somewhere different a few days or so before the biting started, you might have brought home some... visitors. I'd look into it.

If you pull your mattress up off your bed or check your sheets, and you do have bedbugs, you'll probably be able to see them. They multiply pretty fast.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I thought this thread was going to be about balls. I'm glad it isn't. But albino spiders are gross too. One used to stalk me.

      ^...Oh, hell no.

Anyway, I believe whatever it is that was biting me has mosied on elsewhere, since I'm not finding itchy bitemarks anymore. I don't think it was bedbugs, since that seems like it'd be something that would have been plaguing me for weeks beforehand. Plus, I, uh, don't own very many bed sheets...at least, I don't have many that actually fit my bed. So the sheets that were on my bed at that time were still on there by the time I stopped getting bitten. Health hazard, I know.

Also, spider traps might be nice if I lived in a nice, spacious house, but I don't exactly want to invite spiders into my cramped little apartment with traps. What I'd really like to do is figure out how to best seal my window screen so that they can't squeeze in whenever I've got my window open...especially considering that summer's fast on its way, so my window will basically be open at all hours.

I don't think the bait smells enough to invite spiders in from the neighbourhood, only ones that are already there.

As for your screen, there is a magical substance called duct tape Seriously, patch the screen with it.
