Another weird + disturbing ? from yours truly...

I just finished making a rune set for myself and I was trying to consecrate them with my blood (a total of 24 3/4" Flat Head Dowels- one side only so as not to obscure the rune).

I've been a self-injurer for almost as long as I can remember. I don't know if I've perfected my technique TOO much (as disturbing as that may be), because even though my skin split apart, it took a minor miracle to get any blood out of the cuts. They'll still leave nasty, albeit thankfully small, scars. So I don't understand why it's so difficult for my cuts to bleed?

I've *heard* not bleeding can be a sign of dehydration, but I've had a lot to drink today. Or are my cuts just too "clean"? I use a curved X-acto blade.

I'm sorry this is such a screwed up question, but I'm very curious.

I went to a local pet store and bought a syringe because I can draw my own blood, but dummy me got a liquid "syringe" without a needle. There's a better way I could have accomplished my goal but I was afraid the store workers would think I was a drug addict if I went back And pricking my fingers a million times was just not appealing in the least.

Zhaylin, how is everything in your life? Are your kids still giving you grief?

If there's anything on your mind that you would like to talk about, feel free to communicate with me at any time via PM.

Kids and grief go hand in hand lol
Naw... everything with them is par for the course... Not a breeze but not a nightmare either. Just typical for the most part.

Spiritually though... *sigh* I'm forsaking my religious belifs to return to my old ways in hopes of finding myself and God once again. That means a possible downward spiral (spiritually, emotionally) for me. But it will put me more in tune with my spirituality and creativity.

      (((((hugs))))) thanks for the offer.

This thread truly isn't meant to be "hey look at me- I'm an emo". I'm just always curious about WHY things happen. It used to drive my parents insane. It was never good enough to know, for example, that I had a headache and that Tylenol would make it feel better- I had to know WHY I had the headache in the first place

pricking your finger should easily draw blood, that's how diabetic testers work. If you're not getting any blood it could be from doing it for too long, it's building up scar tissue and dampening blood flow, the body will do that. Try taking vitamin E to flush excess scar tissue, also use hand cream with E in it. Go running, and flex your hands while doing it, to increase blood flow. Sounds like you have poor circulation. Can you show us a picture of your legs? I would probably be able to tell you instantly if you have poor circulation if you posted a picture of one of your legs (the calf, not the thigh.)

My camera is currently not working (CMF is full or something). But I imagine I do have poor circulation. I spend most of my time sitting in a variation of the lotis postio, but slumped over with my elbows on my thighs because I use my couch for my computer monitor and keyboard (I'm staying in the RV with very limited space).
That could possibly (probably) even explain my shin splints flare up because my feet are almost always "pointed".

If you'd be looking for varicose veins, I don't have any yet on my legs. But because of Ehlers Danlos, my veins are very obvious. I also have a lot of faint scars from decades of self abuse. I'm the only one who really notices them. I have been scarring more than usual. I also don't have good muscle tone, which will be changing in a couple of months (hubby's finally getting my stripper pole lol *WOOT*!)

They were taken with my DSi, so they're not the best quality.

While sitting in the car earlier I did notice I'm getting faint spider veins along the side of my feet/ankles...

I'm curious as to why you are trying to consecrate the runes with your blood. I could maybe understand if you didn't craft the runes. Since you did craft the runes though, you've directly invested energy into the runes, which in a sense the runes are already apart of you and focused. I used to draw glyphs on paper with automatic handwriting. Took me about four hours to draw a three inch by three inch glyph. I didn't care about the type of paper etc., just that my energy being concentrated into the object was sufficient enough to make it sacred.

Have a picture to share of the runes?

      P.S. You have nice legs.

lol thanks but I know better

I was just reading the instructions http://www.sunnyway.com/runes/runeset.html It's been a long time since I made a set. I bought the dowels and didn't have a wood burner or carvers, so I just x-acto carved the symbols then went over it with a pen.

You don't have bad circulation from what I see, but it's not great either. If you start doing some anaerobic exercise (weights) along with cardio your circulation will improve dramatically.

      Many thanks.

Out of curiosity, what is it you looked for?

      Another weird but unrelated question...
After I pierced my lip (actually UNDER my lip) I've noticed bottom "lining" of my lip has darkened considerably. It's nice because I don't need to use lip liner anymore but I'm curious about what caused it. Was it the piercing or just something that happens for no apparent reason?

I was looking for a bunch of things. Someone with high circulation would have veins visible on the calf, especially around the ankles. You don't have any of that, but if you had poor circulation, your legs would be whiter and have a bluish tint to them. They don't have that from what I see, so your circulation isn't too bad.
