A trusted reality-check.. ?!

I'm new to this forum, but i'm not new to the dream issue i guess.
And i'm really happy to find this "active" forum.

I have a question please.
Yesterday, i've started to make a dream journal.
While reading about the idea of dream journal/diary, i read that one of its seide effects, is a "False awakening" -- Dream within a dream.
This idea makes me a bit nervous. I guess i didnt reach it.
But i'm a but afraid to reach and get confused whether i'm in a dream or in reality.

So, is there a trusted way to check the reality without any possible error?
Because i really need to make the dream journal.. But at the same time, i dont want to get confused about my reality and lose the sense of reality and then getting insane.
I remember here Cob's wife in the inception movie when she lost the sense of reality.

Pinch your nose then try to break through it. If you are able to breathe you are still in a dream. If you can't breathe you are in reality. Sometimes this fails, so you should do it 2-3 times to make sure your body isn't tricking you.

Another good one is to try and push your finger through your palm on the other hand. Try this 3 times as well.

It's good to perform reality checks when you wake up to alleviate false awakenings. Do reality checks when you see your dream-sign (if you have one) to help with MILD and DILDs.
