Wil listening to sounds influence your dreams?

So I got this Rainmaker application on my Iphone and I decided to use it last night. It basically is various rain sounds that will automatically turned off after 45 mins :) I listened to it last night when I went to sleep and voila! it was pouring rain in my dream even though the sky was sunny?

So I was wondering, will listening to various sounds (nature sounds, animal sounds etc) influence your dreams or would it be just pure coincidence?

Content of dreams can sometimes be from day residue, or what you thought about/heard/saw during the day. That's where dreams about scary movies and stuff comes from. So I'd say it was definitely from the application.
