      Depression and Lucid Dreaming

hey this is my first thread on DV Anyways, I have OCD and some syptoms of ADD/ADHD and I can sometimes tend to be a bit stressed and depressed, per say. Anyways, I was wondering if lucid dreaming can sort of be a therapy for that.

btw I havent been able to have a lucid dream yet

Yeah definitely! Lucid dreaming, and simply remembering my dreams helped me immensely with depression. Remembering my dreams, and trying to figure out what the meant, helped me figure myself out.

However, once you go lucid, symbols go out the window!

The most important thing is to try to use lucid dreaming to improve you waking life.

You ever wake up feeling blue? After a lucid dream, most people are in a good mood for a long time. I usually wake up happy nowadays.

Lucid dreaming will definitely help you with stress and depression! Your lucid dream is like your own little world, where you get to play God . You can even explore yourself and find peace of mind during LD's, they're a great experience!

Now that I think about it, there needs to be research done on lucid dreaming as therapy.

I agree, lucid dreaming has been known as a 'remedy' for nightmares. But who knows, maybe it should be studied and examined to determine if it is a good therapy, which I think it is.
When I first started lucid dreaming I used to suffer from depression too. I don't, anymore. However I don't know if it is due to lucid dreaming, or my girlfriend, or maybe a combination of both x)

I've realized many things about myself through dreaming. It's a great way to get a good look at your subconscious and to help realize what is making you depressed and how to overcome it.

I believe all dreams provide therapeutic oportunities. I rarely have lucid dreams, but I record all my dreams each day and kind of get used to how I feel about the different weird happenings and relationships. I'm convinced this has allowed me to be more calm about real life.
