Sleep paralysis . . . I think!

Well I am not sure if this is SP, But some nights I almost fall asleep on the couch, like a dream seems to close around me but I can still here the T.V, It is like I go underwater all sound gets quieter. I hope somebody knows what I am talking about cause if it turns out that that actually was some weird form of SP without the hallucinations I am gonna hit myself for being so dumb, I am always complaining about never having a LD and here I have dreams forming around me and I almost deliberately shake myself awake. But I also have to wonder if I am that lucky to be able to bypass the hallucinations and enter a dream :shock: So any dreamers out there have this happen to you and if so please give your thoughts on it and such :) Goodbye.

I know what you are talking about. This happens to me usually when I'm really tired, but I don't feel comfortable with where or when I'm falling asleep.

It is possible that you went into SP. But it might not have been.
Also, plenty people go through SP and don't experience strong hallucinations.

In fact, what you experienced could possibly be seen as mild hallucinations. Because really, all a hallucination is, is where you experience something which isn't right with either 5 of your senses.
So if you experienced silence, or near silence, when there wasn't really silence, then it is possible to see that as a hallucination.
Most people wouldn't consider it a hallucination, but imo, there's nothing wrong with saying it is.


Just one thing though, personally, I don't consider it lucky to miss out the hallucinations.
One thing you need to keep in mind is that it isn't all bad. Only some people get bad hallucinations. And those are the people who expect it to be bad.
Others get amazing sensations.

I was going to start a new thread, but decided not to...

I get sleep paralysis sometimes, especially when I'm sleeping in the middle of the day. So I was taking a nap on the sofa the other day, and I woke up into SP. I've gotten pretty used to it by now, so I wasn't afraid. The thing is, I was trying to get out of it, so I started "moving" my fingers. I wasn't literally moving them, but I distinctly felt as though my fingers were bending back and forth. Also, I'll try to move my legs, and I can feel them move away from my body, but then they'll "snap" back into place. It's like I'm struggling to get out of my body. Could I be on the verge of an OBE? Does anyone know what this is?
