Sleep Paralysis & Lucid Dreaming connected?

Im new to lucid dreaming, but not sleep paralysis. Ive had few lucid dreams but tons of paralysis. Anyway, I cant remember where, but somewhere I read that sleep paralysis can help you gain access to a lucid dream?

Does this sound right? Maybe I just read something wrong?

I have trouble getting into a lucid state so if sleep paralysis can help me I would like to know.

PS. Can anybody give me tips into controlling my dreams better. I always wake up if I happen to become aware im dreaming.

yes, usually sleep paralysis comes right before a WILD just stay relaxed and focused. When you become lucid stay calm, try to pay attention to things around you, hold or touch things and remind your self its a dream, if you feel it starting to fade try to slowly spin and look at and rub your hands together, they will all help you stay lucid.

I've heard the theory (keyword: heard) every now and then from spiritual types that sleep paralysis occurs as the consciousness has to realign with the body after either entering a lucid dream or leaving the body in some fashion.
(of course, they use the term 'spirit' instead of consciousness)

you enter sleep paralysis every night you just usually don't notice it. If your trying to WILD that is go directly from being awake to a lucid dream than chances are you are going to notice when you enter sleep paralysis because it is important for sleep so you dont move around and wake yourself up.
