      Dreams mimic real life?

i was just thinking a while ago how closely dreams seem to follow real life.
for example, people who keep "waking Journals" ( http://www.dreamviews.com/f15/if-you...ams-try-93005/ ) seem to remember dreams much better. almost as if, once you recalled your life events vividly your subconscious mind mimicked that mindset making remembering your dreams as easy as remembering your daily events. I never really thought about honestly.but anyone ever wonder how thats possible? its the same with anything. habits like reality checking are also mimicked in our dreams. if most of our brain is sleeping when were unconscious then how do our memories from events and days play into our dreams?
its almost like we never really fall asleep. well, sorry if its been posted before, just got me thinking. maybe im an idiot but i Never really made the connection in my mind is all.

Haha I do keep a waking journal and I recall usually 4 dreams a night, some days I get lazy or didn't do much, so I write it in the next day. I haven't gone back and compared when I do this to my recall though. I probably should, would be pretty interesting.
