There maybe many people that lucid dream they just may not know its called lucid dreaming because theyve never looked it up. either that or they don't like to talk about it because theyre afraid people may think they are crazy.
Some people I've talked about lucid dreaming just don't give a crap about it. They think I'm on drugs haha. My sister told me why would you want to go to another world, what don't you like you life
Hell, I wish I could be more open about Lucid dreaming. It's just such an amazing thing that the human mind can perform, that I see no reason why anybody would ridicule it. Then again, when you think about people talking about going to other worlds and having superpowers, some people would interpret that as, "I took a bunch of drugs and imagined this." While really, they just don't know how real they can be.
All in all, it's not more popular because people would tend to relate something like that to drugs or unproductive daydreaming. Sucks, but it's gonna take a while for dreaming to get mainstreamed into acceptable conversation. D:
what i am going to say now is kinda crazy :
i think there are two types to people , alot of differences between them , i already got a lot of it ,, and interest of lucid dreaming is 1 of it !!!
ok you can laugh now , i am not crazy  .
I think Lucid Dreaming isn't as popular as it should be because not enough people know about it. Think about this, how often is it publicly spoken about. I think I saw it on the news once, for under three minutes, and I think discovery channel talked about lucid dreaming in a dreaming episode for 15 minutes or so, but that really isn't enough. Also, as far as I know E.W.O.L.D is the only book that is even worth reading on the topic, but that's just my 2 cents.
Most people just have really bad recall so they don't even think about their dreams much. That's my take on what hasn't already been said.
thanks for the feedback lots of of interesting stuff... i find it wierd how someone might believe it but think its stupid or not fun... i dunno being able to do anything without any consequences or embarresment seems almost too good to be true.
I have told about lucid dreaming to friends, one of them tried for some time (like two weeks or so), had his first but give up by unknown reason. One learned to WILD pretty well, and I talk about LD or general dreams almost everyday with him. Another friend can DILD from time to time without even trying, he said he always did, there were times when he knew he was dreaming, etc.
The last one don't give a crap, I've told about it to him but seems not interested. Well, I don't know how one can not be interested in having his own world.
lots of people have never had a lucid dream or at least not remembered it so they probably don't even know about it.
I think its because not that many know about it, and a lot of people who do know about it don't believe that it actually works. For example, when my psychology teacher taught us about lucid dreaming, he said himself that he didn't think it was possible.
Also, of the people who do try it, a lot of them give up after awhile.
A great deal of what a person is interested in comes from their understanding of a thing. That is why I work on the principles of langauge, and why I demonstrate the linguistic characteristics of lucid dreaming. Still, many people have no tolerance for rationality because it is something they neither have nor are capable of. Still, with the correct metaphors, even the irrational can become intersted in the state for it has value to the improvement of the mind.
Because it is not "real". If it is not registered through the physical senses, people dismiss it as real. Many identify with their waking state as "the real reality", the one and only.
Plus the known is safe and takes no courage to occupy. Most people are afraid. i.e. Clinging to obsessions, harmful relationships even when they are consciously aware of the harm.
