my dream recall is weird
The more I think about why my lucid dreaming attempts haven't been to good, the more I realize my dream recall needs work. Sometimes, I'll wake up, and remember the general plot of a dream, but bits and pieces are missing. Then, as I go about my day, details of the dream rush back to me all of a sudden. It's like I don't remember the dream all at once. I suppose this is good because I am remembering the dream, but when it comes to lucid dreaming I'd rather this not be the case. Is this something I could improve with dream recall practice? I dont keep a dream journal because I'm lazy and sometimes I'd rather not remember my dreams because they were disturbing. Has anyone ever had their dream recall behave this way?
Oh by the way how do I set up a dream journal on here?

I have, its very annoying sometimes. You have a great dream, but you only remember half of it. Then suddenly I realize while doing the dishes what the other parts I'm missing.
My dream recall has gotten a lot better though thanks to keeping a dream journal, it helps a lot.
Also I think you just set one up top on the site next to *what's new?* and *Wiki*.

Sometimes I don't remember my dreams well in the morning when I wake up, but something, random things will remind of me of the dream throughout the day. Like something on Tv, or something a friend says to me, or something on the internet. It's funny, cuz I'll like be talking to my roomate about...Idk spider monkeys, then I'll stop and be like "hey, i had a dream about spider monkeys last night!" and then just continue the conversation, lol.

Doesn't this make lucid dreaming less fun. If you have a fun lucid dream but only remember 70% of it?

Maybe you just need to wait longer for your memories before getting up. Sometimes I recall during the day but it's usually just a vague, instantaneous feeling and not any part of the plot or scenery. That only happens when I don't give myself time in the morning though. Not only are there potentially unprocessed plot elements but also lots of imagery and specific quotes that I lose shortly after getting up.
