Dreaming of a girl...

I know that this may seem very common to those of you whom are adept in dream interpretation, but I, however, am new at this sort of thing. Just a little background information, somewhat relating to my problem, if it helps:
-I do sometimes have very vivid, premonition-like dreams where I dream of something, and it happens some time later in real life
-I am 16, and am what most people would consider gifted and talented(play trumpet, top-grades, ACT composite of 32)
-I am currently dating a 13 year old; yes, i know, she is relatively young, but I don't believe age should matter

Okay... Now that my background information is cleared up, allow me to explain my dream...

First off, I really like my girlfriend, even to the point of falling in love with her. Her name is Tara; she is very intelligent, musically gifted, fairly religious, outgoing, emotionally intact, and, though she tends to act pervertedly, she'd never attempt to do anything sexual before marriage. I used to dream about her fairly often, but these were just every-day dreams -- hugging, cuddling, movies, ect. We live in different towns and attend different schools, but are only about a 5-minute drive away from each other. Due to parental issues(her mother being too lazy to bring her places), however, we have not been able to go anywhere together in quite some time, so I have grown lonesome.
Lately, I have been dreaming of this other girl, Hannah, whom I am friends with, but have no particular intentions on becoming more than friends with. She is, very much so, similar to Tara, the only main differences being that Hannah is 15, goes to my school(so I see her every day), quite a bit more religious, and a lot more soft-spoken. These dreams range from Hannah and I laying down in my own bed talking and hugging all the way to her napping on my shoulder while I'm holding her in a car.

Once more, I do not believe that I like Hannah any more than a friend, and I certainly do not want to hurt Tara in anyway; in fact, I wish that it would have been Tara in my recent dreams. But, alas, I am confused on the whole matter.

They're similar and you see Hannah often so it makes sense that you'd dream about her. You said so yourself that you would rather have dreamt of Tara so I wouldn't worry about it much if I were you. You're bound to have a screwed up dream every once in a while, what you do in your dream isn't exactly an indicator of what you'd do in real life. Hell, I've woken up a few times feeling physically sick because of what I had done in a dream. Your mind just goes on auto-pilot sometimes and there's nothing you can really do about it, no point in beating yourself up about it.

Either that or you've got a bit of a crush on Hannah. :P

If you're really intent on dreaming about Tara as opposed to Hannah, why not tell yourself to perform a reality check every time you see Hannah, seeing as you seem her quite often? That way, if you see her in a dream, you can RC, become Lucid, and turn her into Tara. You could also summon Tara alongside her as well. The more the merrier, right? ;)

Thanks, both of you. I did have a crush on Hannah at one point, but those feelings are long gone. Yeah, maybe it is just me missing Tara, and Hannah's there because I see her a lot more often, but it just feels as if there's more to it. Anyway, my ability to become lucid usually depends on the type of dream I am having - if I'm having a nightmare, I find it a lot easier to become lucid, because, for example, If I get stabbed in my nightmare, feel pain, but do not die, I then become lucid. Therefore, it is really difficult for me to replace Hannah with Tara whilr having such a lovely dream. Yes, I do in fact enjoy having these dreams, but it's not because I have affection for Hannah; these dreams remind me of Tara, and in some instances, I have thought that it was Tara with me, when it was really Hannah holding me.

Some part of me just wants there to be a deeper meaning than ''you miss Tara.''

I'm only 18 now but when I was your age, I had crushes on two different girls which confused me. I don't think you are going to be able to keep your mind on one single person while you're so young.

It is interesting how you see similarities between the two figures in your dreams. When I was 16, I had a crush on a girl for a long time and eventually I didn't see her anymore. I liked her because we had things in common but I'd grown an attachment. The feelings continued to grow and evolve as I tried to let her go. Over time, I stopped dreaming of her but dreamed of an imaginary girl who resembled her. I began seeing females that reminded me of her and feeling similar feelings. This wasn't so good because those feelings had evolved into something more sexual. I didn't know how I should direct the feelings/desire so I repressed it. I've never really understood what this means about attachment and I still don't know what is "true" love to me.
It may sound like a mess but I am not trying to warn you. I'm just giving you food for thought. Don't over analyze your feelings though. Do what brings you joy. Your dreams can't tell you to do anything. You will gain a better understanding of how complicated emotions are over time.
