Weird reaction to some dreams

I did some search on the forum but couldn't find much on this, but i have a question about some dreams I've had that are a bit bizarre. Well, they are to me, at least :) And I would love to hear some opinions on them, :lol:

So this has happened the 3 times I've traveled overseas ( Portugal, Japan, and the Mediterranean). I come back from the trip ( usually a 2 weeks trip), back home and for the next few days, I have these strange dreams where I would be still overseas, ex: when I came back from Portugal, for the next few days, I would dream I would be inside a cathedral, or when I came back from Japan, I would be walking or be in a room in Japan - the strange part is that in these dreams, i would wake up ( not really sure why I would wake up from the dreams since I don't ever remember what i dreamed) but I would wake up and I would still see my dreams ( this is why I know what I dreamed about, I don't remember the dream, I remember the waking up from the dream) - and not my actually bedroom.

Ok, to make sense of this, here's one dream and all dreams were the same, the only variable/change was the location - I must have been dreaming I was inside a cathedral because I woke up for whatever reason ( do not recall the dream), I looked around and I go into a panic mode because I had no clue where I was, I felt very disoriented because instead of seeing my bedroom. I was seeing the inside of a cathedral, then I would physically get up from my bed, still seeing the cathedral, I looked out the window and I saw another place, not my backyard, physically i would feel the cold, stone walls of the cathedral, at this point, I am completely into panic mode, my heart is racing, I am hyperventilating, then I would make my way down the cathedral hall touching my way down since I didn't recognize the place, and after a few moments what I was looking at would slowly morph into my house, I would actually be able to see the change in my view, the walls would slowly morph into my house, the furniture would slowly start to merge, sort of out from the mist and I would find myself sitting in the floor on the guest bathroom on the opposite side of the house, completely in a panic. :eek::eek:

After a few days, the dreams stop and I don't get them anymore, until I travel overseas and it happens all over again.

I travel within the US quiet often and this hasn't happen, not like this at least. I have other weird dreams, but they are different and they belong in a different thread. I do suffer from hypnagogic hallucinations so not sure if this is a stronger version of it or what, but it's a bit bizarre.
