I'm Moving Something in my Sleep, Its Become a Sign of Distress

      Hai folks,

Next to my bed I have my drawer. I usually have a drink there. Also on it are three things in neat order. Closest to me is my newtons cradle. In the middle is a lava lamp that hasn't seen use for a while. Then to the end, this magnetic sculpture thing that you can set off and it rotates and spins (I'm into shit like that haha).

A couple of weeks back, I woke up in the morning. I opened my eyes, turned my head and saw my newtons cradle, the object nearest, was turned so the 5 balls were facing me (click here to see the exact model). I found it strange, had absolutely no recollection of it.
About 3 to 4 years a go I used to sleep walk, going for walks around the house and I'd often be found standing in dark rooms in the corner mumbling. Once I tried to leave the house but couldn't operate the door. On another occasion, I went into my parents room at midnight and asked for a glass of water for my friend, and then muttered something about a transparent foot. On another occasion, we went to a hotel and I slept walk at night and went for a piss in the bathtub. Had no recollection of any of these sleep walking phenomena. I figured I must have just been asleep and I moved the cradle.

A week later, I have a distressing night. Tossing and turning. Sure enough, in the morning the cradle is turned. Facing me. Not turned to a weird angle, not pushed, not placed somewhere else. Precisely twisted so all 5 balls face me.

Last night it happened again. I had a strange night, not poor sleep but a little restless. I got a drink, came into my room and saw the cradle turned. This time I scared me a bit. I thought hard, I had a rough memory of twisting it but as far as I can remember I wasn't even thinking, I just sat up and did it, then went back to sleep... I wasn't properly conscious, I was just moving. At least, thats what I think I can remember... I wonder if I just fabricated a memory... its all confusing.

What I want to know is, why? Why am I doing this? If its because I'm having trouble sleeping, what exactly has suddenly started making me turn my newtons cradle? Why the cradle? Why at the same angle so precisely?

EDIT: Might help by adding that one night I tried to drink from my lava lamp thinking it was a bottle.

I'm not exactly in control, I couldn't choose to do anything. I don't even remember doing it most of the time. :/

Has anything changed in your sleep habits, lately? I know this is a stupid question to ask a lucid dreamer, since we screw with our sleep habits all the time. I'm just wondering if anything automatically comes to mind as the cause. Normally, our first instinct is right, even if it seems stupid. For example, if you have just started setting a glass of water on the table, this may be causing it. You could be focused on the water, and it draws your attention to that table when you are in zombie mode.

My sleep habit is constantly messed up sadly. Although I do find I can be quite thirsty at night (I tend to not drink a whole lot in the day so I constantly reach for the water at night). In fact sometimes I don't even remember drinking it...

I do this too and hear things such as a trucks backup beeper and think its someone laughing hysterically and really think it was happening for 30 mins and talking and walking around. I don't think its unhealthy I think different people just think differently, just thats just me perhaps.
