      dream question

Why are emotions so strong in dreams again? For instance l, I had a dream last night I was at some hotel where Selena Gomez was having some sort of event or performance. I ran up some stairs with everyone and snuck into this giant ballroom where everyone was at. I ran into Selena and told her how much I liked her and thought she was gorgeous. I was just wondering why I was able to go up to her and say that because there's no way id do that in real life? Well I might lol. Is it because we have no outside distractions and were just in the moment? So basically we have no outside distractions.

I like to think of it like this. In the dream state, your logic is turned waaay down. This can help your innermost desires and hidden personality traits show through. You are correct in saying that we are less distracted. We are less distracted by logic and rationality. I always feel proud of myself when I wake up from a non-lucid where I had acted valiantly. I had a dream not too long ago where Koreans invading (no offence to Koreans, of course. It was a dream after all ). They had these crazy mech units. I took off running and jumped up on the arm of the mech unit and knocked the gun out of its hand (it was about to shoot my family). I woke up and felt proud for not panicking and being heroic.

Yea I think I heard that somewhere too. I just didnt know if it was true. Yea I keep having these Selena Gomez and acting dreams because a) Selena is my dream girl and b) I've wanted to get into acting lately, but I dont know if its just one of those phases. I've gone through many. Wanted to be a firefighter for years and even started my classes for it at college but stopped. Then I wanted to be a wild life filmer and then photographer. And when i was younger I always dreamt id be an archeologist. And now I'm thinking of getting into acting but I'm a shy guy. That's why I want to use lucid dreaming for, so I can get rid of anxieties that I've built the last 4 years. Also to find out who I am now. I dont know who I've become, but I dont like it, and I want my outgoing self I was as a child. I have so many anxieties now and I hate it. Sorry, I like letting my feeling out on here sometimes lol. I just life were like dreams sometimes, where you just go out and so stuff without worrying about problems. But I mean, there's consequences in life for our actions, so life isn't like a dream.

Wow, it seems me and you are very much alike. Anxiety is definitely tough man. Whenever I am feeling down about it, I just say to myself, "I'm just going to fight it with everything I've got. No matter what, I'll keep fighting." I think lucid dreaming helps me deal with it a lot as well. I totally get where you are coming from, man.

Thanks Yoshi, its nice to see someone has similar problems as me. My anxiety was a lot worse a few years back, but I saw a psychiatrist and that helped a little. I still want to use lucid dreaming to help myself feel free. You know, like go around talking to all the dream characters and talking to them. I could ask them about myself too, since they're basically me. Maybe they can help me find myself. I also feel like if I can talk to random girl DC's, it would help me talk to girls in real life. I mean, I can talk to girls, but I have trouble talking to girls that I like in my classes at college. I can set up a scenario in a lucid, where I'm in class and I can practice talking to cute chicks lol. I feel like it will give me my confidence back. I mean, I'm a good looking guy, its just that I'm shy and have a few personal problems that hold me back in life. I really want to get over those problems, because once I do, I feel like I will be very confident and comfortable with myself. Anxiety kind of holds you back and you feel like your basically chained up and being held back from things you want to do.
