Video Games in Dreams
Anyone here ever played a video game inside a dream or lucid dream? For some reason, whenever I do, I always start off playing normally and out of nowhere I am shifted into the game and am actually inside playing without a controller. I asked my brother who said the same thing happens to him. Sometimes I wonder how the shift to the game doesnt make me lucid, anyone else experience this and have any comments\??

I mainly play RTS games or games with 3rd person view so I'm always looks from that view. But I did once have a dream about COD and I was transformed into the game like you said.

When we're dreaming, we can accept anything as real because the logic and reasoning part of our minds have been turned off. Because of this, you just have to be mindful whenever you're playing a video game and check to see if you're in third-person view of the character, or first-person. Explain to yourself why you're dreaming based on what your viewpoint is like, and every once in a while, stop playing to do an RC (don't just do a brief plug-the-nose check; actually pause the game and put the remote down).

I remember once, I was playing COD in a dream and I could jump on the roof. Of course you can't jump that high in COD so I realized I was dreaming. I told the guy beside me:''Check this out''. And suddenly I was pushing enemies with telekinesia, the guy looked at me like WTH!!?!...
lol
P.S.: I love your signature Puffin! 30STM ROCKS!!!

The only real time was when I played gmod 80h within one week with some of my friends. Got plenty of dreams bout that
Otherwise even though I game at least 2h per day, I don't get dreams bout them.

When I play like 3h in a day at COD , I keep dreaming about it all night long...
Maybe because I am focused a bit too much on it.
That's why I quit playing sometimes.
Oh and I still dream about WoW like once in a month...And I stoped playing 1 year ago.

I wondered about my gaming dreams too.. I also get shifted into the game, but sometimes I'm still conscious of the fact that I'm holding a controller. And it hasn't made me become lucid yet either.

yea, I'm going to try and recognize it as a dream sign next time it happens, but it hasnt happened in over a week

I had one where i had to go through weird obstacles in a jungle and at the end there would be a portal which would get me out though it disappears, then the dream gets really depressing and i woke up
I had some cool dinosaur dreams too lol

Just last night I was playing classic Sonic the Hedgehog on my HDTV in my room in my dream. I was just playing it and I got to this boss that doesn't actually exist, and I couldn't beat him no matter what I seemed to do.
Eventually, I looked at the screen and said, "Wait! I don't have to play by this games rules! I'm dreaming! I can just close my eyes and make Sonic win for me!" So, I did. And I won. And then I went back to dreaming normally, completely ignoring the fact that I had just acknowledged OUT LOUD that I was dreaming.
*Tsk. Tsk.*

Yeah, I think anytime I've played a game in a dream, I've actually gone into it, which is fun. A lot of the time I just know I'm in a video game from the beginning though, rather than starting off with a controller. Of course I don't think that's strange at the time...
