Lucid and/or non-lucid dreams. (You can vote on multiple options; e.g. you've had one non lucid which gave you an idea, but occasionally get ideas from lucids).
Amateur songwriter: have received one complete chorus (words and notes/chords) directly from a dream.
Also, intermittently over the years, I have listened to a dream tape that contained many quality song sketches/ideas.
Strongly "knew" that these were mine. (Whether this is a "knowing" based on songs actually being "there",
or it's mere brain/mind circuitry falsely and on-the-spot creating the songs and the certainty, I don't know)
It's very satisfying to listen to these songs in dreams, but I have never been able to bring anything back into wake-time.
I have occasionally in non lucids and lucid. Usually is has something to do with a school project. I use my lucids as inspiration for writing different stories, and they usually turn out really good.
I use dreams for inspiration, creative ideas, and problem solving all the time. I am a visual designer, architect and artist.

I'm studying architecture in my grade 12 year of high school. I use a lot of designs for buildings based on ones in my dreams which usually turn out very nice. :)
Problem solving..
Sometimes i hear music with sound and chorus, but i've been able to remember only parts of the text and nothing from the sound.
I have seen paintings, drawings, but havent tried to accomplish them yet.(i'm an artist) i get the whole idea and colours, but not in details.
I think human's potential is probably way more active in dreams, we aren't thinking in an ordinary way(kinda like thinking outside the box)
You can make any use of it...for example you can make a script for a porn movie, using your erotic dreams... haha :shadewink:
it is my desire to create my own song. so several times i've dreamed of new song, when i woke up i still remember clearly the melody and jump to my PC right away to start composing, but the problem is, i dont know how to compose a song, and i barely can play guitar, so the song only linger in my mind for a moment until i forgot it :(
one time i remember i saw some figure i my dream, its some sort of "rule of thumb" in marine engineering design. when i woke up i drew that figure. but look carefully, i dont have any clue of how to use it :P
So far I've only been using very few of my non-LDs for inspration. They are often to erratic to give me any real inspirations. But when they do, they're doing it right.
I plan to use my dreams a lot more for inspiration, especially LDs.
The designs I come up with in my dreams are often nonsensical and impossible. They rarely work in the real world, but they still give me inspiration and a fresh point of view.
I've been inspired to write short stories from my most interesting and coherent dreams.
I don't really have anything to use such inspiration for, so never :P
Most of the time that I've gotten inspiration it is for little piano songs which I soon forget, after remembering only bits of it and it not turning out well IRL lol.
Or problems IRL with friends etc. dreams have helped a bit.
A couple of times I came up with cool products that I was going to patent, but never got around to it. lol
I definitely want to get a job where I can come up with cool solutions to problems in my dreams. That would be awesome.
Most of the stories I used to write in elementary school were from dreams. I actually won about 5 writing competitions with my stories. I used to love writing stories from my dreams. It kept the story original and I didn't even have to think it up myself. :)
Now that I think about it, a lot of pieces I've written have been inspired by dreams. In fact, the zombie apocalypse love story that got published in my college's lit journal was written almost entirely one morning after I woke up from a particularly memorable dream.
I am a writer, and dreams give me ideas for landscapes and plots I would of never thought of on my own.
I write a lot of fiction, and much of it is based loosely off my dreams. I'll remember things from a dream, quickly write them down, mull it over, and many times mold the basic idea into a workable story.
I had a lucid once where I was walking down the street and saw some big wooden sculptures. They were fairly organic and had many textures and curves; I tried to emulate them on paper once I woke up which turned out fairly successfully, resulting in two complete pieces of art, even though I couldn't replicate the exact nature of the sculptures.
This happens maybe once every 4-5 months.
Same here...one of my dreams was basically a whole cohesive plot/story about a guy who accidentally traveled to another dimension and back. It was something I would never have been able to think of on my own and all the characters were as complex as real people.Quote:
