Does anyone else have dream vividness cycles?

I find that for 2 weeks to a month or so, I have really vivid dreams that are almost entirely recall-able, and then after that time period for some reason I don't remember any dreams at all, or remember little bits of dreams but not vivid at all. And then after about 1-2 weeks, I have super vivid dreams again for some time.

Maybe it's because there are periods in my life where I get caught up with too much things to do and think about or something... while other times I just enjoy life idk

Does anyone else have this too? Why do you think it is?

I definitely record weeks or so where my dreams are more vivid than others. This week has been especially vivid.

In addition, sometimes I fall into a deeper sleep than usual, and I almost fall asleep immediately.. almost as if i'm being called to sleep.. back to the dreams. that's fun to think anyway : )

one person told me that vividness in her dreams was related to the cycles of the moon.

We know that concentrating on dreams helps us to remember them, it seems like that's the obvious answer. If you have a dream that you remember well then it probably encourages you to think about dreams more for a while, so that could be the reason it feels like it happens in cycles.

That's interesting. For me, I wouldn't say its related to the cycles of the moon because the vividness cycles really vary. But yeah, maybe it does have to do with some kinda force like that

That's also interesting. Maybe once I find the vividness stops, then I start thinking about dreams again, and soon they start being vivid again.

My dream vividness seems random, some nights I'll know I dreamed about something, but when I wake up I can't remember squat, other times it's near perfect recall. I wish I could have vivid recall more often.

I haven't noticed any cycles that I can actually predict, but it does seem like I go through periods where my dreams are long and vivid and it's much easier to LD...then periods of terrible recall, no LDs, and boring monotonous dreams. It's hard to tell if it's from my daily life stuff interfering with dreams or if it has to do with some kind of internal hormonal cycle.

I have times where I get poor recall, then very good recall. More often than not, each phase lasts a good few months, with a few breaks into the other phase here and there. The times I have difficulty remembering dreams, I'm not stressed out or anything so I'm honestly not sure what could be causing the drop in recall. Maybe it's just an internal cycle, and not so much affected by external sources.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
