Thread: Your First Ever Dream?

Mine was I was bushwalking with my dad near a creek we used to go to and we were sitting on a rock when someone brought us pizza. We opened it and it had no topping except this shiny bluish-grey cheese.

I remember waking up and thinking "What was that!?!" because I hadn't had a fully formed, recallable dream before.

I would've been 5 at the time.

I started this same thread last year too! It was short lived, but interesting nonetheless. Check it out.

"I am walking through a city with tall sky-scrapers lain out in a grid pattern between straight paved streets and sidewalks. The city and the sky are in blacks, whites and grays, devoid of any colour but are as vivid as a movie with the contrast hiked up high. As I walk through the city there are people passing me dressed in suites, dresses and other like clothing with straight, tall posture and heads level. Some hold briefcases in hand and all walk briskly in lines as straight as the sidewalks they walk upon. Eventually I come to a large intersection where several roads converge. In the middle of the intersection is a roundabout. The roundabout is rimmed with a paved lip but inside that lip the blacks and whites stop and there is vivid colour. The roundabout contains lush, vividly green grass and a single large, tall and healthy apple tree. I walk onto the green grass of the roundabout and up to the apple tree. I see a large red apple that is so big as to weigh down one of the high branches of the apple tree just enough for me to reach the apple. I walk over to the tree, pluck the plump apple and take a large bite."

I didn't even know what a "roundabout" was when I had that dream. The dream has always struck me as very odd... I'm not sure how old I was when I had it, but I was very young.

That's awesome! I did a search to see if this thread existed elsewhere but didn't find anything.
It's something I've always been interested in- I figure what better place to ask!

My earliest dream that I can remember is one where my family and I were going on a holiday. We would just be about ready to go, when I would suddenly remember that I had forgotten something (what exactly I don't recall). Rushing back to the house I would go to pick up whatever it was, and then run back outside to the car as quick as I could. However, when I opened the door the car would be gone, and my family with it.

I think I would have been about 4 or 5 when I first had this dream. The reason why I remember it so clearly after all these years is because this dream tended to repeat. I don't know how many times exactly I had this particular dream. But everytime I woke I would be crying because I was actually afraid my family had left me!

I don't think anyone could tell you their actual first dream. The earliest I remember having was when; I was being chased be two cheetahs on the beach. I escaped them by running into the waves where they would not go. It was a nightmare. I would've been <7 years old, I think.

I have no idea how old I was when I had this dream, but it was pretty young. I was at an airport with my parents and we were checking our luggage, only the conveyor belt they put the luggage on had a steep incline at one point before it would go through the hole in the wall for some reason. We started walking away but I tripped and fell on to the belt and I reached out for my parents to catch me but it was too late. When I went through the hole in the wall, I fell into a big black void where slowly a salad bar materialized around me.

Earliest dream = seeing Simba from the Lion King with glowing red eyes crouching about to lunge at me. I woke up in my crib and got out and ran to my parents, so I'm assuming I was 3-4ish.

My first dream was actually pretty disturbing. I must have been very young, possibly 3 or 4.

Me and my mum were walking to school to pick my sister up. My mum was walking ahead and I was trying to follow her but couldn't stand up or walk properly so I crawled after her. She was crossing the road and I was really struggling to keep up. I was half way across the road when a car came round the corner and ran me over. It stopped right on top of me so I was crushed underneath.
Then my mum and the guy driving the car tried to pull me out but with a car on top of me that was impossible and I could feel myself stretching
Then I woke up crying.

I think I remember this thread. I think I didn't reply because I couldn't remember what i wanted to write.

Anyway, the earliest one I could remember is a reoccurring nightmare where I was in a dark cave with my brother and cousin. A trap door opened and they fell in, but I, being the last one in line as we walked, didn't. Then a greenish colored glowing ghost came out from further up ahead. It had glowing red eyes. I remember having this dream more than once a night, too.

Haha. It might explain why I'm so psychologically damaged as an adult lol. Most of my childhood dreams were disturbing. I once dreamed my bedroom carpet turned into water and there was a seal that wanted me to swim with him. I was happily swimming around when he turned into a shark and pulled me under the water. The water then turned back into carpet and I couldn't get out so I slowly suffocated under my floor.

Never will I trust a seal again.

The earliest dream i remember was when i was like 4 or 5 i dremt that there was a giant spider in my living room :p

The earliest dream I can remember happened when I was about 2 or 3 years old. I was standing at the top of a giant staircase and I tried to walk down it. I then somehow tripped and fell staight down to the bottom. I woke up right before I would have hit the floor.

I can't imagine how you're able to remember your very first dream, but I used to have this recurring dream when I was younger, and it's definitely the earliest one I remember.

During any mundane dream, there would be a chance that I'd hear footsteps coming up the stairs in my house of a monster which resembled the 'wrong trousers' from Wallace and Gromit. If you didn't hit the floor and lie as flat as possible with your eyes closed, you'd be put into a nightmare by the monster.

When I was young enough not to know the difference between dreams and reality, I had a dream involving a game store in the mall. I was sonic the hedgehog and had to stand on some blue beacon.

When I woke up, in real life, I begged my dad to make the game. I must have been 6 or something. I assumed for some reason that he could make games because he knew about computers.

Not sure if it's my first dream, but it's the earliest nightmare I can recall having and can only vaguely remember one scene from it.

I was in my grandma's upstairs apartment late at night, and remember walking from the room I was sleeping in after waking, past the lounge which was only illuminated by the glow of the TV with a few occupants in the room, to the kitchen down the hallway which was impossibly dark, and after grabbing something from the fridge I looked to the back door which had a large window and seeing this menacing, ominous dark figure made of some sludgy material with eyes that seemed to glow a yellow light with black pupils staring back at me. I remember fleeing, but getting lost in the dark apartment and not being able to find anyone.

I was about 3 or 4 at the time and apparently was afraid of going near that kitchen for a couple weeks at night, because I wasn't sure if it was a dream or memory.

Really interesting that a great deal of the recalled early dreams are nightmares. Poor kid-us.

I'd say that's more than likely because those are the more emotional dreams, not because we necessarily had any more nightmares than we do these days.

As others have, the first dream I can remember was a "nightmare," though as I remember back on it it wasn't scary in the least. I remember very little of it, but the little I remember of it kind of gets the point across. I was around 5 or 6 at the time.

I was sliding down a slide at our school's playground, and when I slide down, my pants disappeared. There wasn't anyone else there except a few teachers or something standing there, just off the playground. For whatever reason my mom was a teacher or something and was standing there with the others. I asked her if that was okay that I didn't have any pants. All of a sudden her eyes turned red and kept getting bigger, and while this was happening she was doing this sort of laugh that was just a "Ha..Ha..Ha" in this really deep voice. Then I woke up.

I wasn't screaming or anything but I was somewhat disturbed by the whole experience.

That eye thing actually sounds really unnerving...

Haha, these are all quite interesting... I'm not sure what the first dream I remember having was. I remember a lot of my dreams from when I was younger, but I'm not sure when I had them. There are two dreams in particular that come to my mind, both from probably when I was around 7 years old. I'm not sure which one came first.

1 - I dreamed that I woke up in the middle of the night and went into the kitchen. My parents were there eating ice cream. I joined them and also ate some ice cream. Then I told them I was going back to bed. They told me something like, "Okay, but be careful ... This is the time of night when the monsters come out!" But I was like, "Yeah, whatever." And I went back to my room anyway. When I went back to my room, there were bats flying around and there were two monsters standing by my bed. They were green and had horns on their heads; they were pretty much identical, except one of them was really tall and skinny and the other was short and fat. The short one picked me up and said something like, "MMM TASTY!" and then ate me. So, then I was inside his stomach, but somehow I could see through it. And then I woke up.

2 - I was standing in my parents bedroom, and the Powerpuff Girls were there. Then Mojo Jojo (the villain from the show, if you're not familiar with it) walked in. He has this hose that sprayed out beige paint all over things. And if you got sprayed, you could only stand there saying, "Blah ... blah ..." very slowly. So, Mojo Jojo sprayed the Powerpuff Girls and then they became "Blahhh" zombies. I got scared and tried to run out the door, but then this random guy with a blindfold on ripped the door off its hinges and turned it sideways, blocking the exit. And then he just stood there shouting, "POWERPUFF, POWERPUFF." Then I was suddenly in a restaurant with a bunch of other people. Mojo Jojo walked in and started spraying everyone with the evil paint stuff. But at that point, I came to the realization that this was actually a movie and we were all actors. So I was like, "Oh, okay. Actually this is fun!" And then the door to the restaurant opened and Woody (from Toy Story) walked in and I knew he was going to save the day. But then the dream ended.

... So, yeah. I was an interesting child.

I can't remember my first dream but I remember the very first time it dawned on me that I was dreaming, I was riding on a roller coaster and I said to myself, I am dreaming! I didn't become lucid or have any control but I got to go along for the ride and it was a very intense feeling. When I awoke I had no understanding of what I had done at the time. I was very young, and the internet didn't exist back then. Nor did I know what a lucid dream was.

The first dream I remember having is from years ago. I was in a casino in space shaped like one of those roulette wheels. I lost all my money and the casino somehow blew up, or atleast part of it did.

I'm not sure about my first dream, but I think the first nightmare I had was the classical "fall from a very big height and wake up when you're about to hit the ground". I was really afraid of heights back then.
