It seems that to some people when they are dreaming, they are a spectator in their dreams, which means they'll just go with the flow of the dream. But I just realised recently, when I was about to make an action in a dream, I'll actually think about it in the dream.
Take yesterday's dream for example, I was holding an important item on my hand and I was running to a destination with my partner. But it suddenly came to my mind that my partner is a faster runner and I threw the item to him and asked him to reach the destination first.
Seems like instead of events happening after events without my control, I was able to pause for a moment and think about the next action before making it. And I wasn't lucid dreaming.
